Last Updated: 2024/11/22, A foreman in Nanchong changed his career when a farmer went to the fields in a car.

On October 27, the reporter saw a medium-sized, slightly fat middle-aged man pulling a big truck of rice at the grain collection site of the National Grain Reserve in Yingshan, Sichuan Province. After acceptance, weighing, warehousing and other links, he received the money handed over by the staff.

"for nearly a week, I have been selling more than 30 tons of rice every day. Wait a while, I will sell two or three hundred tons of rice! " The big grain grower named Peng Xu told reporters.

1 the contractor returned to his hometown and changed his career to growing grain

Peng Xu was born in Xingfu Village, Sanyuan Township, Yingshan County in 1974. After graduating from high school, he was hired to work in the public security room of Sanyuan Township. After five years of work, with the dream of getting rich, he went south to Guangdong. Without a skill, he tasted all his joys and sorrows. In 2003, Peng Xu took his wife to work in a coal mine in Henan Province. after some hard work, he later became a contractor and dug up the "first bucket of gold". At the same time, he also accumulated some management experience.

In 2011, when the coal industry was in the doldrums, Peng Xu returned to his hometown to drive a taxi in the county. He, who often drives to the countryside, found that a large number of young and middle-aged workers in the countryside went out to work, and tracts of farmland were abandoned. Peng Xu felt that the investment in growing grain was small and the results were quick. Although it was not as profitable as operating other industries, there was no big risk, so he came up with the idea of going back to the countryside to grow grain.

When Peng Xu told his family this idea, he got his family's understanding and support. However, when relatives and friends heard the news, they poured out "cold water": what is the future of coming back to be a farmer at a young age? Can you still dig up "golden balls" in the field? "I have been farmers for generations, and now I should be proud to be a new farmer when I return to my hometown." Peng Xu said that in recent years, the state has introduced incentive policies for large grain growers, which has strengthened his determination to go back to his hometown to grow grain.

Just do it. In December 2014, he transferred 4000 mu of land to grow grain in six townships, including Langchi, Xinghuo, Shuangxi and Yongquan.

2 through arduous farming on a large scale and get a bumper harvest

"how can you be so busy planting so many fields?" In the face of the reporter's question, Peng Xu explained: "thanks to the agricultural machinery subsidy policy, I bought 6 large ploughing machines, 20 diesel engines and more than 30 sprayers." Transplanter is used to plant rice seedlings and combine harvester is used to harvest rice. The whole process from planting to harvesting is mechanized, which improves the labor efficiency. The professional team of plant protection is also responsible for the control of diseases and insect pests in these transferred fields. "

Peng Xu said that in January this year, he set up a company to grow rice, rape and other crops. However, the road to entrepreneurship is not plain sailing. In May this year, due to the lack of Rain Water, Peng Xu had to keep pumping water in order to plant more than 1000 mu of fields in Xinghuo Town and Xiqiao Town. "it was a very hard time. I had to pump water day and night. I have to drive to the fields at more than 5 o'clock every morning, go home late at night, and take a nap for a few hours to start a new day's work. " Peng Xu said.

In late July this year, there was continuous high temperature and little rain in the county, and some rice fields in Xinghuo Town dried up. Despite spending more than 50,000 yuan on pumping fees, rice is still facing the situation of no grain harvest. Peng Xu lost his footing and went to the county water bureau to reflect the situation. The relevant person in charge of the bureau decided to release water from the reservoir to rescue the dying rice. Due to the timely replenishment of water, the vast majority of rice was saved.

During the autumn harvest, the reporter came to Group 2 of Xinhe Village, Xiqiao Town, and saw large combine harvesters gallop in the rice fields that could not be seen at a glance. "my son works in Shenzhen. He suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and is at home with his wife. I rented more than 3 mu of land to Boss Peng. I got 1200 yuan in rent and planted 1.5 mu of crops myself." Xian Zhongren, a villager in his sixties, told reporters that there were many abandoned fields in this area in the past, but they still used rotary tillers to open up wasteland.

"when the rice matured in early September, I was particularly relieved to see the heavy ears of rice. I felt that no matter how hard it was, it was worth it." Peng Xu said that this year's rice harvest was bumper, with an output of nearly 2000 tons.

(3) scientifically develop the cultivation of pollution-free rice

Peng Xu is a new type of farmer who drives a car to the fields and wears leather shoes to grow grain. " The relevant responsible person of Yingshan County Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Bureau made such an evaluation.

Peng Xu said his company has a group of highly skilled agricultural technicians and an efficient management team. This year, he hired a professional manager to be fully responsible for the coordination of all aspects of production, to check and supervise the implementation of various management positions; logistics managers to provide material support for front-line production; on-site management personnel to carry out on-site treatment of problems existing in production; to employ county agricultural technology experts, plant protection station experts, soil and fertilizer station professional and technical personnel to carry out technical checks. It has an agricultural machinery team of more than 20 people, which implements pieces per mu for ploughing, transplanting and harvesting, and pays in time after acceptance; at the same time, it has hired nearly 40 field managers to be responsible for weeding, fertilization, water management, and so on.

Because the company is running well, growing grain in the first year has achieved initial results. "at present, the harvested rice is being sold through multiple channels. In addition, I am discussing cooperation with Nanchong sellers to implement online sales through the e-commerce platform. At present, the national policy is good, and growing grain has sweetness and vigor. " Peng Xu plans to keep up his efforts, he said. There is still a lot of abandoned land in the countryside, and he needs to expand the planting scale. Now, he is going to partner with others to grow grain on a scale of 4000 mu in Chengnan town.

Peng Xu said that now people's demand for grain is getting higher and higher, and pollution-free crops are very popular. "next, I intend to plant pollution-free and high-quality rice in accordance with standardized planting requirements, starting with seed selection, planting, fertilizer and pesticide use." Peng Xu said that he not only wants to be a successful farmer, but also leads more people to develop modern agriculture.
