Hao Zengping: little kiwifruit achieves a sweet career

Cooperative president Hao Zengping introduced to the reporter.

Hao Zengping, 53, is from Langouya Village, Fangxia Town, Laicheng District. Just 20 years ago, it was inadvertently that Hao Zengping and kiwifruit formed a predestined relationship.

In 1995, Hao Zengping went to Cangxi County, Sichuan Province to sell pepper. In the local area, someone took four green fruits for Hao Zengping to taste. "this fruit is really delicious." Hao Zengping just took a bite and a sweet sweetness swept into his heart and spleen. After inquiry, Hao Zengping learned that this is kiwifruit. Hao Zengping thought there might be business opportunities, so he spent 2000 yuan to buy 300 kiwifruit trees from the local area and brought them back to Laiwu. Unexpectedly, they blossomed and bear fruit the next year, and more than 2000 jin of kiwifruit were harvested. Hao Zengping happily took kiwifruit to the market and sold it at the end of the day for only 1 yuan. This made Hao Zengping have a deep sense of frustration. As it has always been not recognized by the masses, the kiwifruit is not only sold in the market, but also distributed to relatives and friends to taste.

After being frustrated, Lao Hao did not give up his dream, but continued to experiment and improve until 2010, and finally succeeded. The improved kiwifruit is smaller, but tastes better and tastes even sweeter than those grown in the south. In order to make consumers feel at ease, Hao Zengping carefully protects the good quality of kiwifruit. "the most reassuring thing about kiwifruit is that it does not attract insects or medication, because it is a fleshy root. Fruit trees are fertilized once a year, and they all use organic fertilizer and ring manure. " Hao Zengping said. In order to have enough fertilizer, Lao Hao raised more than 80 sheep and used sheep manure to improve the quality of the fruit. Kiwifruit likes to be clean and beautiful like people. Lao Hao knew its habits and drilled four deep wells in the garden and watered the kiwifruit with sweet and clear water.

Just this year, Hao Zengping took seven cases of kiwifruit to Jinan to participate in the agricultural products exhibition, unexpectedly made a name for himself. At the exhibition, the kiwifruit brought by Hao Zengping was quickly sold out, attracting the attention of businessmen in Jinan, Beijing and other places. "in Beijing, I can sell this kiwifruit for 60 yuan per jin, which is very popular." Hao Zengping said. After tasting it, many merchants praised that the kiwifruit planted by Hao Zengping was even more delicious than that in the south.

Hao Zengping, who tasted the sweetness, bought more than 6000 kiwifruit trees from Sichuan in 2013. After setting fruit in the second year, after entering the full fruit period, each tree can produce more than 70 jin on average. In the same year, Wang Fengdong from Langouya Village, Zhang Yidong and Zhao Decai from Daijiazhuang Village, Yangli Town, came to Lao Hao's home together and wanted to learn kiwifruit planting techniques from Lao Hao. Old Hao didn't say a word. from planting to management, all the skills were on him. In April 2014, they established the Hezhong kiwifruit planting professional cooperative, with Hao Zengping as its president, and linked to the Nanboshan source kiwifruit market for unified packaging and sales. After seeing the rapid development of cooperatives, more and more farmers have joined cooperatives. Now the members of cooperatives have grown from 6 to more than 50, with a planting area of more than 100 mu. "starting from next year, many fruit trees will reach their full fruit. it is estimated that the output will reach 100000 tons next year, and the net income of the cooperative will reach more than 1 million yuan." Hao Zengping said happily.

According to Hao Zengping, the yield of kiwifruit per mu is about 3,000 to 4,000 jin. According to the picking price of 20 yuan per jin, one mu of land can earn 60,000 yuan, which is beyond the reach of growing crops. "at present, the planting area of our cooperative growers is limited, and the output is not very large, mainly for self-help picking. in the next step, we will supply to the major supermarkets in Jinan and other places by increasing the planting area and increasing the output." In the face of a good market, Hao Zengping said confidently.
