Fan Honghai, a talented fruit grower, was interviewed during the apple picking season in October. Red apples hung all over the branches, and he and his villagers were busy picking, sorting and packing. There was a happy smile on his face.

Fan Honghai, 49, is from Guanzhuang Village, Puwo Township, Lingtai County. In 2007, as director of the village committee, in order to lead the masses to create a way to get rich, he became the first person in the village to "eat crabs" and took the lead in planting 5 mu of red Fuji apples. "if you want to make money, you also want to set a good example for the villagers and feel that you have a heavy responsibility on your shoulders." Fan Honghai told the reporter that the first time he changed his profession to grow fruit, he and his wife spent most of their time in the orchard except eating and sleeping. In fact, his road to growing fruit was not smooth. At first, due to lack of technical experience, diseases and insect pests were serious, but he was not discouraged. He asked the technician to guide him and asked the big fruit grower for advice and study, which finally enabled him to tide over the difficulties. In 2012, his fifth year of growing apples, his apples sold for 17000 yuan, so he expanded his orchard to 8 mu. Over the years, the orchard has brought a lot of benefits to the family. This year, although his family's fruit was hit by hail, it still sold for more than 40,000 yuan.

An example was made. In Guanzhuang Village, people mentioned "the apple of the Red Sea family", and there was no one who did not praise it. For a while, every family in the village planted fruit and everyone studied.

Fan Honghai is not satisfied with growing his own fruit to get rich. "leading the villagers to create a way to get rich" is his dream. He is never stingy to share his fruit-growing experience with others. Walking in the field, when he sees that there is something wrong with the management of the orchard, he always goes forward to help. He also repeatedly invited fruit tree technical experts to the village to provide technical training for fruit growers.

In order to let the fruit farmers in the village get rich together, he founded the first farmers' professional cooperative in the village-- the Fanjiazhuang Fanjiazhuang Farmer's Apple planting Cooperative in Guanzhuang Village, which absorbed more than 50 members. With the scale of the orchards in the village, the sales of fruits have become the most concerned issue for fruit farmers. Fan Honghai also actively contacted merchants to buy apples to solve the fruit sales problems for the villagers. Not long ago, he raised another 20,000 yuan to build office space for fruit trees professional cooperatives to facilitate the activities of members of professional cooperatives.

Fan Honghai said: "I am a party member. I just want to keep my feet on the ground and do what I can do. Anyone can do these things. It's no big deal."
