After a few years of experience, the young Yang Mingbo experienced the bitterness of working.

In 2008, relying on young people's aggressive and unyielding spirit, Yang Mingbo came to Tongchuan, Weinan and other places in Shaanxi Province to engage in grain and traditional Chinese medicine business under the introduction of friends. However, doing business was not as good as it should be. Yang Mingbo was caught in a dilemma.

"After so many years of wandering, I have gradually calmed down." Yang Mingbo said,"Rather than running around outside, it's better to develop at home." During the business of medicinal herbs, Yang Mingbo learned that Trichosanthes has good edible and medicinal value and broad market prospects. A thought of returning home to plant Trichosanthes slowly germinated in Yang Mingbo's heart.

After many considerations, Yang Mingbo came to Qianshan County, Anhui Province alone in 2010 to investigate and learn the planting and management techniques of Trichosanthes kirilowii and bring back seedlings for trial planting in Daozuomiao Village, Tonglu Town, his hometown. From the initial few acres of land to more than 40 acres, Yang Mingbo constantly grope, summarize. Over the years, his cultivation techniques have gradually matured.

At the end of 2014, Yang Mingbo actively negotiated with the surrounding common people to transfer 130 mu of land in advance for Trichosanthes plantation and started his entrepreneurial dream.

After the land was transferred down, Yang Mingbo called on the villagers to reclaim the land, plant snakegourd, and build snakegourd racks. For a time, more than 130 acres of abandoned land rekindled hope. Under Yang Mingbo's leadership, the former wasteland was full of melon basket seedlings. Most of the common people who circulated the surrounding land used their idle time to work in Yang Mingbo's snakegourd field to help with field management.

"Xiao Yang is very capable!" Yang Zhongjun, who is in his 40s, often works in Yang Mingbo's melon field. When talking about his impression of Yang Mingbo, Yang Zhongjun is quite impressed. He said: "Young people are not afraid of hardship. Every day, they get up early and take care of Trichosanthes in the field together with us. Entering the harvest season of Trichosanthes, Yang Mingbo is busy from morning to night. In the melon field, the author saw that golden snakegourd hung full of shelves, more than 10 workers under the leadership of Yang Mingbo harvest mature snakegourd, a busy scene. Yang Mingbo was filled with joy as he watched the snakegourd fruits being picked one by one and brought back home. All these years of hard work had not been wasted.

"Trichosanthes kirilowii is a treasure all its life. The melon shell can be used as medicine, the melon seeds can be eaten, and its roots can also be made into trichosanthes kirilowii. It is very valuable to use. Selling fresh melons alone is not cost-effective." For this reason, Yang Mingbo also built his own baking room, harvested fresh melon, after taking out melon seeds, the melon shell sent to the baking workshop for baking, effectively utilizing the added value of Trichosanthes.

For this year's earnings, Yang Mingbo also calculated a sum with reporters,"Trichosanthes market prospects are very good, and our Trichosanthes also do not worry about sales." Each mu can produce more than 3000 catties of fresh melon, and the output value per mu is about 3500 yuan. Excluding seedlings, labor and chemical fertilizer, this year's income is about 500,000 yuan. I am very confident in the cultivation of snakegourd!"

In terms of future development planning, this young post-80s generation also has its own ideas. In the next step, Yang Mingbo plans to continue to expand the planting scale of Trichosanthes kirilowii and drive the surrounding people to participate in planting. In addition, Yang Mingbo also developed more than 260 mu of Trichosanthes kirilowii planting in Tongnan, Suining, Anyue and other places in Chongqing through network information platform, responsible for providing seedlings, technical support and recycling Trichosanthes kirilowii. "We have to take a long-term view," he said."We can't satisfy the existing planting model of Trichosanthes. If we want to use Trichosanthes to get new development, we have to think more."
