"our cooperative now has more than 30 people, and next year we will expand the scale of 500 mu to allow more farmers to participate and drive the surrounding people to become rich." Today, Wang Hongtao, president of Hongtao River Crab farming Association, Changning County, Yibin City, told reporters.

Up to now, crabs raised in Wang Hongtao's 1100 mu hairy crab farm have entered the dining table of citizens in Yibin, Luzhou, Zigong and other places. Wang Hongtao also achieved sales revenue of more than 8 million yuan, which is expected to exceed 10 million yuan for the whole year.

Wang Hongtao is from the northeast. In 2013, Wang Hongtao, who traveled to Zhuhai in southern Sichuan, saw the beautiful natural environment of the local scenery. "with good mountains, good water, no industry and no pollution, it is a good place to develop agriculture." Wang Hongtao said.

After several inspections, Wang Hongtao finally chose Laoweng Town, which has an excellent ecological environment and rich water resources. The town is adjacent to the Bamboo Sea Scenic spot in southern Sichuan, with more than 20000 mu of paddy fields and high-quality aquaculture conditions. In early 2014, Wang Hongtao introduced Chinese mitten crab seedlings from his hometown of Liaoning, using ecological cultivation, using corn as feed to raise the all-natural Yibin version of hairy crabs.

Chinese mitten crab is a kind of economic crab, also known as river crab, hairy crab, clear water crab, hairy crab. It is a famous delicacy in China. Its chelate feet are used for feeding and resistance to the enemy, and the inner and outer edges of the palm are densely fluffy, hence the name Eriocheir sinensis.

Wang Hongtao said that his hairy crab is mainly to meet the Sichuan market. In order to allow hairy crabs to "settle down" in Yibin, the local government took Wang Hongtao's river crab breeding base as a key support project and funded the renovation of roads, ridges, canals and other infrastructure. After the hairy crab successfully "moved" to Laoweng town, it quickly adapted to the local climate and water sources.

Set up a farming association to drive the surrounding villagers to become rich

"as a result of pure grain feeding, compared with feed-fed crabs, they are small and cannot be sold at a high price." At the beginning of breeding, Wang Hongtao encountered trouble. To this end, the relevant departments of Changning County and Wang Hongtao jointly look for a solution.

After repeated experiments, we found that the technology of co-culture of rice fields, lotus root fields, fish ponds and river crabs not only fattened the crabs, but also increased production and income in lotus root fields and rice fields. "We feed crabs without feed and with grain, which can be said to be pure natural crabs." Wang Hongtao said that Laoweng Town is rich in water resources. River crabs are raised in rice fields and lotus root fields, sucking spring water permeated by mountains and bamboo forests.

Local breeding experts said that raising river crabs in rice fields is not only conducive to the growth of rice, but also create a good ecological environment for river crabs. The water in the paddy field is shallow, the water temperature is easy to rise, and it is easy to breed all kinds of small organisms, which will bring rich bait organisms to the young crabs. at the same time, rice also provides a shelter environment for the river crabs; the crawling and benthic activities of the river crabs play a role in loosening the soil and promoting the growth of the whole lotus root plant; the feces of the river crabs contain nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and other fertilizers, which play a role in increasing fertilizer. This mutually beneficial relationship forms a reasonable ecological balance between rice and river crab.

At present, Wang Hongtao's Hong Tao River Crab farming Association has more than 30 members. In addition to training ordinary people in breeding techniques, Wang Hongtao has not yet provided job opportunities for relatives in Shili and Baxiang. "at present, I rent 1100 mu at a price of 400 yuan per mu, and the nearby farmers work here, paying them tens of thousands of yuan a year. These are real incomes." Wang Hongtao said.

"We have two river crab stores, one in Changning County and one in Nanxi District." Wang Hongtao said that this year they produced more than 30,000 kilograms of river crabs, and the association will also sell them through the Internet and online stores and ship the goods according to the quantity ordered.

It is reported that in the next step, Wang Hongtao will continue to expand the scale of breeding, further improve infrastructure construction, and develop rural tourism, so that tourists from all over the country can taste the old man hairy crabs and increase the income of ordinary people.
