Original title: Qin Yunchang, Bohua Village, Sandu County: former wage earners are now the king of raising snakes.

In order to get rich, Qin Yunchang of the Bohua Village Slope Group in Zhouqin Town, Sandu County, did not take the usual road. He worked outside to learn the skills of raising snakes. He went back to his hometown to set up a snake farm and became a famous local "king of raising snakes." out of an unusual way to get rich. Recently, the author came to Qin Yunchang's snake farm.

Qin Yunchang's snake farm covers an area of about 200 square meters and has 60 or 70 snake boxes, each about one meter high, covered with barbed wire to prevent snakes from "escaping from prison." these snake boxes contain a total of 3000 jin of snakes.

Speaking of forming a bond with snakes, Qin Yunchang said that more than a decade ago, when he worked in a snake breeding base in Guangdong, he saw that there was a great profit margin for raising snakes. At that time, Qin Yunchang, who was only a breeder, secretly made up his mind to bring snake-raising skills home and build a snake-raising base himself in the future. After nearly two years of "stealing teachers and learning skills", Qin Yunchang gradually learned about the living habits of snakes and mastered a lot of knowledge and management experience of raising snakes. In 2004, Qin Yunchang returned to his hometown to start a business, built a 60-square-meter snake house with his own hands, and crawled and rolled around in this little snake house, opening his way to entrepreneurship and wealth.

Qin Yunchang told me that raising snakes is different from raising poultry such as chickens and ducks, it is very difficult to fully grasp the living habits of snakes without groping for six or seven years, and many snakes are state-protected animals, and famous snakes are not allowed to be domesticated at will, and must pass the strict examination and approval of the relevant departments to meet the breeding conditions and technical standards. Therefore, he is not afraid of "the mountain is high and the road is long." he inquired and went through the formalities one by one, and finally got the materials ready in 2012 and got the first license for domestication and breeding of wild animals in Sandu County. to become a legitimate and veritable snake king. After that, Qin Yunchang began to expand the snake house and began his road of raising snakes on a large scale.

"the construction of a snake house is very scientific. Snakes are afraid of cold and heat, so keep them ventilated in summer and keep them warm in winter. " Qin Yunchang said that the snake is a cold-blooded animal, its living environment should be kept at about 28 ℃, not more than 31 ℃. Snakes are also very picky about the food they eat. They need newly hatched and unfed quails from Guangxi. Around October every year, snake meat is the fattest, but from December to April, snakes go into hibernation. As long as the snake is "covered with quilts" to keep warm, there is no need to feed.

At present, Qin Yunchang's snake farm is mainly fed with three kinds of snakes: Shuilu snake, cauliflower snake and cobra. Among them, the prices of water snakes and cobras are higher, the market prices of water snakes, cobras, cauliflower snakes and cauliflower snakes are 120, 170, 150 and 80, 100 yuan per jin, respectively. The skin shed from a snake is also a big "treasure". Snake skin can be sold as medicine, and one jin of snake skin also has an income of 70 yuan. According to Qin Yunchang, the breeding cycle of a snake is two to three years, and it can grow to about 3 to 4 kilograms. Excluding feed costs and the market price before the market, a snake can earn a net profit of more than 200 yuan a year. His snake farm has no problem earning a net income of 80,000 to 90,000 yuan.

When asked if he had ever been bitten by a snake, Qin Yunchang held out his deformed little finger and smiled and said, "of course I was bitten, and it scared me at that time. Fortunately, it was dealt with in time, and now it's all right." Qin Yunchang told me that the biggest difficulty in raising snakes is to overcome psychological obstacles, but when I think that these snakes are RMB, an asset for starting a business and getting rich, I can only work hard to overcome them. Now that I have been dealing with snakes for a long time, I have mastered its habits. I feel like there's nothing to be afraid of.

The snakes raised by Qin Yunchang never worry about a market. in addition to restaurants and hotels in neighboring counties and cities, such as Dushan, Libo, and Duyun, they are sometimes exported to Guangxi and other places, and they have to be booked in advance during the peak selling season. Now he is planning to expand the scale and make the snake farm better and bigger if funds permit. (pan Xiaoyue)
