Original title: drilling wood, planting mushrooms, meat, thick, delicious and fragrant.

Li Zhaoxue introduced Linden mushrooms.

Small files for poverty alleviation

General situation: there are more than 1430 people in Shannan Village, Lengshuiguan Township, Nanchuan District, of which more than 800 are migrant workers. Because of the more remote, more slope and less land, the annual net income of the villagers who work at home is only about 1000 yuan, and it is difficult to attract the owners to invest.

Breakthrough: Shannan Village is particularly rich in forest resources, with a forest coverage rate of more than 50%, which is suitable for the development of Linden mushrooms.

Path: Nanchuan District people's Congress, the village's counterpart poverty alleviation unit, investigated this technology from Sui County, Hubei Province, and popularized it in the village.

Effect: the price of Linden Lentinus edodes is 8 yuan per jin, which is much higher than the general variety. A professional cooperative of Lentinus edodes was set up in the village, which led more than 10 villagers to plant it together.

Can Lentinus edodes grow on wood?

Recently, in the home of Li Zhaoxue, a villager of Shannan Village, Lengshuiguan Township, Nanchuan District, the author saw a surprise.

Only saw in the courtyard dam, a root about 1 meter long wood neatly piled into a well-shaped, wood above, a blossoming brown mushrooms are scrambling to protrude their heads. "this kind of mushroom is called Linden Lentinus edodes. It grows very fast, but it grows small now and will grow to the size of the palm of the hand tomorrow morning, so it can be picked." Li Zhaoxue said.

obtain raw material locally

Before December 2012, like other villagers in Shannan Village, Li Zhaoxue had no idea of growing mushrooms at all. "there are 1435 people in our village, of whom more than 800 are migrant workers, and the annual net income of farming at home is only about 1000 yuan." He said that there are also people who want to start a farming industry, but they have no capital and no labor force. "our Shannan village is far away from Nanchuan, and no one wants to invest in the village."

In December of that year, the Nanchuan District people's Congress, the counterpart of Lengshuiguan Township, came here and found that although Shannan Village had more slopes and less farmland, it was particularly rich in forest resources, and the forest coverage of the whole village exceeded 50%. "Sui County, Hubei Province has set up a Linden mushroom. It is said that wood is taken on the spot and there is no need for mushroom bags, so it is very suitable for the development of mountain areas." Therefore, after the district people's Congress went to Suixian for inspection, technicians were invited from Suixian to guide the villagers to try to plant.

"in fact, the shiitake mushroom industry in Shuijiang Town has developed well over the years, and we have thought about learning, but a bag of shiitake mushrooms costs four or five yuan. Besides, the family is full of old people, so they have no energy to manage, so they have no choice but to give up. " Chen Tianyou, a villager of Sanshe, said that at that time, people were a little hesitant about the development of Linden mushrooms.

Trial planting was successful

"the so-called Linden mushroom is the use of wood as the raw material for Lentinus edodes fermentation, which does not need manual management. except for the first time, there is no need for mushroom bags in the future, which is very convenient and suitable for mountainous areas with less capital and less labor." Hearing the introduction of the technician, Li Zhaoxue was determined to give it a try.

After the beginning of spring in 2013, he came to his woodland and cut down more than 60 green bar trees and maple incense trees with a breast diameter of more than 10 centimeters. "this is the best wood for growing Linden mushrooms introduced by the technician, and this kind of tree happens to be everywhere in our village."

According to the technician's explanation, he first cut the wood into a section of 1 meter, then drilled a small hole with a depth of 3 to 5 centimeters every 10 centimeters or so, and put the Linden mushroom bag donated by the district people's Congress into the hole. Finally, he put 1200 pieces of wood neatly in the courtyard dam and left it alone.

After the first rain after Cold Dew, Li Zhaoxue stacked the wood into a well-shaped shape. "the technician said it was convenient to pick up bacteria."

Seven to ten days later, the first batch of Linden mushrooms grew. "when you grow fast, you can pick it in the morning and again in the afternoon. If you pick it in the afternoon, you can pick it the next morning." Li Zhaoxue went into the house and showed the author two Linden mushrooms that had just been picked. The author found that this kind of Lentinus edodes looks bigger than ordinary Lentinus edodes. It has thick meat and shorter and cleaner feet.

"this kind of Linden Lentinus edodes has a stronger flavor than ordinary Lentinus edodes. When cooked, it has a strong aroma and tastes delicate, as anyone who has eaten it knows." Li Zhaoxue told me that the market price of Linden mushrooms is about 8 yuan, which is very popular in the market.

The prospect is good.

From Cold Dew to the Qingming Festival of the following year, it is the season for Linden mushrooms to produce mushrooms. Li Zhaoxue calculated that last year he picked more than 600 jin of shiitake mushrooms, with an income of about 5000 yuan at a price of 8 yuan per jin.

More importantly, Linden Lentinus edodes is an input and long-term benefit. He said that the useful life of a piece of wood is 5 to 8 years, and there is no need for any investment except that it needs to be put into a bacterial bag in the first year. Apart from turning the wood manually after Cold Dew every year, there is no need to manage the rest of the time.

In June 2013, Li Zhaoxue set up a professional cooperative of Xiangde Lentinus edodes in the village and has now absorbed 11 Linden mushroom growers to join the cooperative. "maybe our Shannan Village will also become a mushroom-growing village in Nanchuan." He said happily. (article / photo by Wang Zuren, correspondent)
