The dream of a boy in a mountain village to get rich
Go back to your hometown to start a business, lead the masses to develop barren mountains and plant thin-shell pecans to shake off poverty and become rich. Chu Yuefeng, a villager of Doushui Village, Zhongguan Township, Yuexi County, has been working hard for his dream....
Chu Yuefeng, who has worked in Hangzhou and Shenzhen for many years, has always wanted to go back to his hometown to start a business and make use of the vast mountain farm of his hometown to make a career.
In 2013, he had a chance to meet Huang Jianqin, dean of the College of Forestry and Biology, Zhejiang Agricultural University. After exchanging entrepreneurial ideas, Huang Jianqin recommended him to visit Yinkeng Village in Ning'an, Zhejiang Province, which is the first village of pecans. "when we get to Yinkeng Village, we can see that there are all kinds of walnut trees. In order to understand the real situation, I randomly asked a family to ask about the income of growing walnuts. According to him, each walnut tree can hang 50 kilograms of fruit and sell it for 3000 yuan, with an average annual income of more than 300000 yuan in the village. Chu Yuefeng still looks excited when he talks about the original situation.
After the inspection, Chu Yuefeng strengthened his confidence in the development of walnuts. Through further docking with Zhejiang Agricultural University, after soil sampling analysis and market investigation, Chu Yuefeng chose to plant American thin-shell pecans. "this variety has strong adaptability to the environment, high oil yield and good taste. It can be grown in our home, and the market prospect is also broad." Chu Yuefeng said.
At the end of 2014, Chu Yuefeng registered and established Anhui Yongfeng Ecological Agriculture and Forestry Company, which transferred 300 mu of barren mountains and planted thin-shelled pecans in Zhaoling formation of Doushui Village. Townships and villages have given strong support to Chu Yuefeng in planting pecans, integrated agriculture-related funds such as "one matter, one discussion" of village-level livelihood projects, and helped to improve water, electricity, roads and other infrastructure in the base. "now, I go to the thin-shell pecan planting base every day and feel that my dream is coming true step by step. "Chu Yuefeng said happily.
Scale produces benefits. Chu Yuefeng knows very well that it is impossible to rely on the company alone. If you want to expand the industry, you must innovate the development model and drive the surrounding people to plant together.
"the thin-shell pecans planted can hang fruit in 3 years and enter the high-yield period in 7 years. Entering the fruit-hanging period, the output value per mu can reach 1100 yuan, and the early cost can be recovered. After entering the high-yield period, the yield per plant is between 20 kg and 50 kg, and the output value per mu will be more than 20,000 yuan. " Chu Yuefeng confidently calculated the benefit account. In order to encourage farmers to plant, the company not only provides seedlings free of charge, but also gives farmers a subsidy of 5 yuan for each kind of thin-shell pecan.
The beneficial masses naturally agree that the enthusiasm of planting pecans is gradually rising. Wang Xianling, a villager of Zhang Chong Group in Doushui Village, said with a smile: "my family has planted more than 400 walnut trees this year, interplanting tea and vegetables." The one that my family tried to plant first has already failed, and it has borne a lot of fruit. "
At present, Doushui Village has established a thin-shell pecan base of 1000 mu, of which the company's demonstration base is 300mu, driving the surrounding farmers to plant more than 700mu. Doushui Village has taken the cultivation and development of thin-shell pecans as an important way to promote poverty alleviation and development and lead the masses to shake off poverty and become rich, forming a win-win development model of "company + base + farmers + village committees + technical colleges and universities". "in the next step, the village will expand its cooperation with the company and plan to plant 5000 mu of thin-shelled pecans. Chu Delin, secretary of the party branch of Doushui Village, said.
What makes Chu Yuefeng even more delighted is that Yuexi County put forward the goal of "building a million mu characteristic agricultural and forestry base and creating an upgraded version of ecological agriculture" this year, issued a reward and subsidy method for the development of characteristic agricultural and forestry industry, and integrated funds of 10 million yuan, giving heavy awards to the characteristic agricultural and forestry industrial base. "this gave us reassurance. With policy support, the Quartet cooperation model and the active participation of the masses, I believe the "Walnut Dream" will certainly come true. "said Chu Yuefeng.
