A series of cold-blooded little earthworms have now become a magic weapon for farmers in Shuanshanzi Village, Wugongtai Town, Hutubi County, and become veritable soft gold.

On November 27, the reporter came to the earthworm seed and seedling base of the earthworm farming cooperative in Green Home. As soon as he entered the greenhouse, he saw four mud ridges made of cow dung. This is the hotbed for breeding earthworms. A hotbed is 1.2 meters wide, 25 centimeters high and 25 meters long.

Turning to the surface of the hotbed, there are many earthworms inside. "these little earthworms, they are all soft gold." You see, it's only 13 days, and you look so good. " Guo Huaibao, president of the cooperative, said with a happy face.

By chance, Guo Huaibao discovered the business opportunity of earthworm breeding, so he cooperated with Dekang Shennong Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. to become the company's earthworm seedling base, and set up the Green Home Earthworm breeding Farmers' Cooperative in October this year.

"these seedling beds are provided by the company, and we are responsible for breeding." Guo Huaibao said, "the breeding of earthworms is very simple, one is to maintain 20% humidity, that is, 100 kilograms of dung should have 20 kilograms of water, and then there is the temperature. When the temperature is above 10 degrees, it can grow normally. When it reaches 20 degrees, it can reproduce normally, and the reproduction rate is very high."

Earthworms are bred and bred using fermented cow dung. Farmers prepare and add newly fermented cow dung once a month according to the company's formula as food for growth, while humidity is maintained by using black micro-spray pipes on mud ridges. If there is not enough water, add water.

Farmer Yang Deyong stirred the fermentation broth that stirred the formula. "this is the formula for adding cow dung to earthworms a month later, which contains corn hazelnuts, brown sugar and baking powder."

It is understood that earthworms can loosen soil, increase soil organic matter and improve soil structure, but also promote acidic or alkaline soil to become neutral soil and increase available components such as phosphorus to make soil suitable for the growth of crops. Because earthworms are rich in protein, they can be used as feed for livestock, poultry and aquaculture to increase production. Earthworms also play a certain role in pharmacology and are common traditional Chinese medicines, which have the effects of antipyretic, antispasmodic, activating collaterals, relieving asthma, reducing blood pressure and diuresis.

Yang Deyong said that after recycling, the company used earthworms and dung to make organic fertilizer. "after eating by earthworms, cow manure that originally polluted the environment has been turned into organic fertilizer. For example, planting flowers, growing pollution-free vegetables in the greenhouse and raising seedlings in the greenhouse are all the best organic fertilizers. Earthworms themselves have many functions. For example, it can be used as medicine, and it can also be ground into powder and added to animal feed. "

This year, the cooperative uses a total of 6 greenhouses to raise earthworms, each with 8 beds, the seedling raising period is 100 days, and can raise seedlings for 3 cycles a year. In each cycle, the company recycles the hotbed as a whole, earning 576000 yuan from six greenhouses, up to more than 1.7 million a year.

Yang Deyong calculated the account: "for example, the investment in this shed is 30, 2100 days later, the company's recovery price is 128, 000, excluding my cost, the income of a shed is 96, 000, which is very considerable."

Guo Huaibao said: the cooperative has just started, with only five people. In the future, the surrounding farmers will be driven to engage in earthworm breeding through the earthworm seedling base, and fertilization stations will be set up in the later stage to drive more farmers to get rich.
