Recently, 11 vehicles carrying nearly 70 tons of fresh vegetables for Australia were directly declared and released at Gongbei Port in Zhuhai on the basis of the "Customs clearance form for outbound goods" issued by Zhongshan Inspection and Quarantine Bureau. The smooth customs clearance marks the implementation of direct export of vegetables supplied to Australia in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province.

Zhongshan, adjacent to Macao, is an important production base for Macao's agricultural products import market. Vegetables supplied by Zhongshan to Macao account for about half of Macao's market share. From January to November this year, there were 3858 batches and 31410 tons of vegetables supplied to Australia in Zhongshan, and no quality and safety accidents occurred.

"previously, vegetables supplied to Australia were included in the 'negative list' of through-release goods, and direct export could not be implemented. At the same time, the port inspection and quarantine department should also carry out port inspection of vegetables supplied to Australia in accordance with a certain proportion. But now, vegetable export enterprises can directly rely on the customs clearance issued by our bureau to declare for export to the Gongbei customs department. This method is an important step in simplifying the procedures for inspection and quarantine clearance, and will greatly improve the speed of customs clearance for vegetable exports. Zhongshan Hongcheng Fruit and vegetable Trading Co., Ltd. has more than 30 tons of vegetables exported to Macao every day. Zhuhai, which also belongs to Gongbei Customs District, like Zhongshan, is an important area for Macao to supply agricultural products. From January to November this year, the bureau inspected and quarantined a total of 22600 batches of agricultural products supplied to Macao, with a value of 90.9358 million US dollars.

According to Zhu Shaozhi, deputy director of the Zhuhai Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, while actively carrying out scientific research cooperation in inspection and quarantine between Zhuhai and Macao, the bureau has stepped up risk management and applied the "centralized distribution" management model to promote small and medium-sized enterprises to set up distribution centers, implement process management and quality control in all aspects from planting, acquisition to processing and export, and implement one-stop traceability management.
