In Guanping Village, Jiaoshi Town, Fuling District, Wang Dejian is famous for his name-in the past, he was just a farmer who ploughed the fields with his cattle facing the loess, but now he is a famous cattle farmer who leads a leisurely life. In his own words, it was the cow that made him successful in the past and now, so he wants to keep on doing this "coaxing" career.

Wage earners go back to their hometown to start a cattle business.

Recently, when the reporter came to Wang Dejian's home in Guanping Village, he was feeding the cattle with a basket full of sweet potatoes.

Wang Dejian, 48, is a native of Jiaoshi. Looking at his "boisterous" career, you may not expect that he was also a migrant worker who left his hometown in order to make a living.

Wang Dejian said that although the family used to raise cattle, it was for ploughing and ploughing, and the main source of income still depended on selling crops. "there were five or six cows at home at that time." He told reporters that the reason for raising so many cattle is that his family has more than 7 mu of land. "over the course of a year, the per capita gross income of corn, mustard and rice is more than 1000 yuan."

Later, Wang Dejian's two sons grew up gradually, the father was old and sick, and the family expenses became more and more expensive. "the money for selling crops alone must not be enough." As a result, Wang Dejian said, he had to sell the calves born by the family's cows, with prices ranging from 50 to 1000 yuan each. "over the past year, the per capita gross income has doubled to more than 2000 yuan."

With the improvement of living standards, Wang Dejian felt more and more that his income could not make ends meet: "the two sons have to go to school, and the father needs money for medical treatment when he is ill, and he needs money everywhere." In early 2007, Wang Dejian decided to go out to work. In Fujian Province, he applied for a job as a brick porter in a brick factory and earned more than 10,000 yuan a year.

In 2012, Wang Dejian's eldest son graduated from college and went to work, and his father died because he was too old. The financial pressure on his family was reduced, which loosened his shoulder a little bit, so he wanted to return home and start his own business. After consulting with his wife, Wang Dejian returned to his hometown to start raising beef cattle.

Wang Dejian is full of drive, does everything himself, and buys books on breeding to read. "I bought 30 calves in the first batch and spent 150000 yuan, which was all my savings." Wang Dejian said that after careful care, the calf grows very well. By the end of the year, he left the cows to breed, and all the beef cattle were sold. "nearly 10 cattle, large and small, were sold with an income of more than 100,000 yuan." Pay with harvest, but also enhance Wang Dejian's confidence to keep on raising cattle.

Set up a beef cattle farm

Open up the market for a well-off society

In the second half of 2012, Wang Dejian applied for the establishment of Guanping Beef cattle Farm in Fuling District, Chongqing, with a support fund of 35000 yuan.

"I used the money to buy six or seven calves and some feed." Wang Dejian said that due to the limited capacity of the bullpen, his total number of cattle is limited to about 30. If he sells it, he will introduce it and sell it in time when he is born. Today, he sells at least 30 bulls and calves every year, making a profit of more than 300,000 yuan. Excluding breeding costs, his net income is more than 100,000 yuan.

Wang Dejian frankly said that he encountered a lot of difficulties in the early days of his business, but his hard work always paid off. Now his market has been opened and his annual income is very stable. "my cattle are all raised with grain. The meat is of good quality and is loved by everyone. Agricultural products should also pay attention to quality. " Wang Dejian said happily.

In the early days of raising cattle, Wang Dejian also paid attention to environmental protection and formed a "cow-marsh-vegetable" cycle model, that is, the biogas produced by cow manure was used for cooking, and the cow manure was treated and turned into organic fertilizer for growing vegetables. "in the past, my family used firewood for cooking, but since I raised cattle, I have never cut wood again." Wang Dejian said.

Now, all the villagers nearby have come to Wang Dejian for "lessons", and he is happy to impart his experience in raising cattle to everyone to help them start a business. "I plan to expand the scale of breeding to 100 in the next three years." Wang Dejian said that he will try his best to help everyone breed together and achieve common prosperity.
