On the distant hillside, herds of cattle and sheep are grazing, and local chickens in twos and threes are looking for food. in the nearby farmyard, large and small chicken sheds are scattered in front and behind the house. On December 15, the reporter saw such a scene in Tianwu Village, Yangba Town, Nanjiang County.

Build roads to let the ecological industry out of the mountains

"the village is rich in natural resources and ecological industries. Most of the villagers raise yellow sheep, native pigs, walnuts and traditional Chinese medicine, but because the roads are blocked, the specialty products cannot be transported out." Recalling the situation in the village, Yue Songlin, secretary of the village branch of Tianwu Village, said, "if the road is opened, it will be a great joy for the villagers."

The lack of access to the village road has brought a lot of inconvenience to the villagers, especially when selling pigs, cattle and sheep. "We're going to invite five or six young men to carry them, walk about four kilometers, and transport them to the village road of Yiche." Li Xiuju, a villager of the fourth Society in Tianwu Village, said, "in the past, when there was no access road, we had to carry it to the main road of Yangba Town." If every household's pigs, cattle and sheep are transported manually to the main road of the village, it will be too troublesome. To this end, last month, Tianwu Village won part of the project funds. "We are going to harden the roads of a co-operative first, and then find ways to raise funds to build roads for several other co-operatives." Yue Songlin said.

"if the road is not repaired, it will be a major obstacle to the development of the industry." Yue Jun, a villager who is hardening the road in a society, said. He had the idea of starting a business for a long time, but considering the inconvenience of transportation, he never started. Today, infrastructure construction is under way in the village, bringing hope to his dream of breeding.

Breeding ecological yellow sheep realized the dream of becoming rich.

In the sheepfold in the backyard of a peasant family in the west of the village, yellow sheep are eating fodder, which gives off the mellow smell of fermented forage. "there are 80 sheep here, and more than 20 are raised in the neighbor's pen." Villager Song Shigui added fodder and said with a smile: "this sheep is my family's treasure to get rich!"

Song Shigui, 48, is a native farmer. In the past, because his family was poor, he sold sheep with his father just after graduating from junior high school. Today, Song Shigui has become a famous sheep-raising "native expert" in the village. There are four people in Song Shigui's family, with a per capita annual income of 30,000 yuan, all of which come from raising sheep. Although the family also has several mu of land, the corn and straw planted are all used as fodder. "A sheep can be sold in three or four months, earning 80 to 1500 yuan each." Song Shigui said.

Yue Songlin talked about the Classic of raising Sheep and said like this: "in fact, people in Tianwu Village are forced to raise sheep by life." In the past, the village was very poor, and every household lived in earthen houses. Relying on 2 mu of land per capita, life was really hard. In order to change the current situation of life, the villagers raised sheep according to the market conditions, ranging from one to dozens of sheep. Slowly, everyone learned the good technique of raising sheep and made friends with a group of veteran sheep vendors. " Speaking of this, Secretary Yue's words are full of pride. "now, half of the villagers in Tianwu Village are raising yellow sheep, and their income is several times higher than before."

Helping the poor brightens the hope of poor families' lives

Bai Zhonghong, 45, is an ordinary farmer in Tianwu Village, Yangba Town, Nanjiang County. There are two old people in their 70s and three children are in school. After his wife fell ill, he lost a labor force, and the family's economy has been unable to make ends meet.

"at that time, I lived in fear every day. Today I worry about my wife's medical expenses, and tomorrow I have to worry about my children's tuition fees. What if two old people get sick? " One by one practical problems are placed in front of Bai Zhonghong. All the responsibilities of the family fell on him alone. In order to get rid of poverty and become rich, he went to the government of Yangba Town and, with the help of the Animal Husbandry Bureau of Nanjiang County, promptly applied for a loan of 6000 yuan for the "International Heifer" project, bought five breeder sheep at one time, and embarked on the road of raising yellow sheep out of poverty.

Nanjiang Yellow Sheep has the characteristics of rapid growth, strong reproductive capacity and good meat production performance, coupled with the high mountains and dense forests in Tianwu Village, which is suitable for the development of aquaculture. The most important thing is that raising sheep requires low labor intensity, which is suitable for Bai Zhonghong's reality.

Today, Bai Zhonghong has raised more than 40 yellow sheep and produces more than 20 a year. Under the technical guidance of local animal husbandry station personnel, Bai Zhonghong has also become a "local expert" in raising yellow sheep in the village. "with the help of the government, my life was rekindled with hope, and the gloom at home gradually disappeared." Bai Zhonghong said happily.
