"at the beginning, I chose colored rice because I ate it once when I was playing in Yunnan, and I thought it tasted good. I thought I would try to grow some colored rice. " Zeng Fanxing said that there are seven colors of colored rice, red, yellow, purple, black, green, he, and white. In the first year, he planted it separately, one mu of land and one color, and planted a total of 7 mu of land. However, perhaps because of the climate, the cultivation of colored rice in the two colors of he and white is not successful. But there are five colors that have satisfied Zeng Fanxing.

So the next year, he expanded the planting area of colored rice to 15 mu, and this year to 35 mu. Zeng Fanxing adopted the most primitive and ecological natural farming method, with no pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Zeng Fanxing said that the only fertilizer in the field is the fertilizer after the straw is returned to the field, and the largest amount of work is manual weeding. However, Zeng Fanxing still adheres to his customized green original ecological agriculture. The growth cycle of colored rice is more than 20 days longer than that of ordinary rice, and there is only one crop at present. Because there is no medicine, no fertilizer, the yield is on the low side, at the beginning of the trial, the yield per mu reached 180 jin, last year reached 240 jin, this year is close to 300 jin.

Starting from 2014, according to the promotion idea of "free tasting", Zeng Fanxing focused his promotion on the Changsha market, promoting it through Wechat and other ways, implementing free door-to-door delivery. "at first, customers didn't believe in my quality and specifically compared my colored rice with those on the market." Zeng Fanxing said that through on-site processing, his colored rice is obviously superior in terms of taste and aroma. Now he goes to Changsha four or five times a week to vacuum pack colored rice and deliver it to customers.
