At that time, many villagers in their hometown chose to go out to work. Following this trend, Luo Jianguo came to work in a shoe factory in Fujian Province. Every day, Luo Jianguo works conscientiously. He is very strict with himself and has never made any mistakes in his work. He also uses his spare time to constantly recharge himself and improve his theoretical level and technical skills.

Over time, Luo Jianguo was not only recognized by his colleagues, but also appreciated by his leaders. In 2007, he changed from an ordinary grass-roots shoe factory worker to a manager.

Later, Luo Jianguo had a chance to be promoted to deputy factory director, which also meant that he would have a stable, high-paying job, but his decision surprised everyone, and he chose to return to Gufo Village, Rensha Town, Fengdu County. Failure of breeding and the rise of planting on the road

In 2010, Luo Jianguo served as the village director of Gufo Village. At this time, he began to explore the road of agricultural development. In order to improve his technical level, under the organization of the county poverty alleviation office, Luo Jianguo went to the main city of Chongqing and other places to study many times.

When Luo Jianguo returned to his hometown, he invested all his savings from migrant workers into breeding, raising a lot of ducks, geese and goats. However, due to various reasons, we lost money in the end.

Faced with failure, Luo Jianguo was not discouraged. After some market research, in 2013, he began to try to grow red heart pomelo, covering an area of 150 mu. When he encountered any confusion in planting, Luo Jianguo looked up information on the Internet or consulted relevant experts to solve it.

The peel of Hongxin pomelo is yellow, the pulp is bright red, and it is juicy and dregs, which are mostly picked from October to December. Now, it's time for grapefruit to mature. "this grapefruit tree can probably pick 60 or 70 jin. Now the retail price is 5 yuan per jin, and it can sell for at least 300 yuan. More often than not, the fruit of a grapefruit tree can be sold for 400 to 500 yuan." In Luo Jianguo's view, these grapefruit trees are all his cash cow.

"there was a lot of investment in the first two years, and the cost of organic fertilizer, labor, nursing, and so on, is about 10,000 yuan per mu, which will become less and less in the future, and the management will be more convenient." Luo Jianguo said.

Lead the demonstration and get rich together with the villagers

In addition to growing red pomelo, Luo Jianguo also grows mushrooms, strawberries and various vegetables. Today, his annual income is more than 300,000 yuan, and a new house has been built in his family.

As a village director, Luo Jianguo knows very well that in order to change the poverty of the whole village, it is far from enough to increase his own economic income, but also to lead the villagers to the road of becoming rich.

Villager Li Zubi is a worker employed by Luo Jianguo for a long time. He earns 80 yuan a day and more than 2,000 yuan a month. "in the past, doing farm work at home was only a few thousand yuan a year, but now my income is tens of thousands." Li Zubi told reporters that she is almost 60 years old and all the children in her family have gone out to work. Her income is enough for the couple's daily expenses, and she can save a lot of money.

Like Li Zubi, more than 10 villagers work in Luo Jianguo's fields.

Under the leadership of Luo Jianguo, villager Luo Jianxia planted more than 30 mu of Pleurotus ostreatus and other vegetables, and villager Wang Youmin also planted more than 10 mu of Pleurotus ostreatus. When they encounter problems that they do not understand in planting, they will ask Luo Jianguo for advice.

Luo Jianguo believes that Gufo Village in Rensha Town will certainly be "reborn" and the villagers will gradually embark on the road to becoming rich.
