Fruit growers are picking sweet oranges in Xishanping, Beibei district.

Since the beginning of winter, take a casual look at the fruit stall, the yellow oranges are very dazzling. Yesterday, the reporter came to Xishanping, Dongyang Street, Beibei District. The fruit trees on the half slope were covered with yellow sweet oranges. Local fruit farmers are busy picking, sorting, packing and storing sweet oranges. Despite the fact that these sweet oranges are no different from ordinary oranges in appearance, they are all selenium-rich SOD (superoxide dismutase) sweet oranges full of patented technology.

"this kind of sweet orange is extremely technical and was developed by professors of Southwest University and China Agricultural University after nearly 10 years of cooperation. It is called selenium-rich SOD sweet orange." Lin Hong, vice president of the Municipal Association of Old Science and Technology and head of the Agricultural Development Company, said that compared with ordinary oranges, the sweet orange tastes thicker, juicy, sweet and tastes more delicate. In the mature season, the average citrus can be sold for about 5 yuan per jin, while this kind of sweet orange can be sold for up to 20 yuan per jin!

In addition, Lin Hong and experts and professors also carried out extensive propaganda in the local area, teaching farmers how to grow sweet oranges hand in hand. The employment problem of hundreds of local farmers has been solved. "with the support of advanced technology, sweet oranges have had another bumper harvest this year, and the total output is expected to exceed 80,000 jin, increasing the income of our fruit growers." Local fruit growers told reporters.
