"in the past, there was something to eat in farming, but now there is a profit in growing fruit!" On the morning of December 18, at the scene of the sixth Rong'an Kumquat Festival, Lan Yougan, a young farmer, resonated with many fruit growers. The joy of the boy can be confirmed by a set of figures released by the Rong'an county government on the same day: in 2015, 115000 mu of kumquat was planted in Rong'an, with an estimated output value of 400 million yuan, and the per capita income of fruit farmers increased by 79% over 2012.

E-commerce sales increased tenfold

Lai Yuanyuan, 28, is a highly educated fruit farmer who returned from studying abroad in Rong'an County. She told reporters that her cooperative sold about 50 tons of kumquat in 360 mu through e-commerce for the first time last year. This year, the cooperative has pre-sold 500 tons of high-quality kumquat through e-commerce.

In the face of a tenfold increase in sales in a year, Lai Yuanyuan sighed very much. "without government support, we would not have been where we are today," she said. "

It turned out that Lai Yuanyuan received strong support from the Rongan County government soon after she returned to her hometown in 2014. At an exhibition of famous and excellent agricultural products, the local e-commerce service center learned that they wanted to sell through the Internet, and thought it was a good idea, so they sent staff to help build an online store, do a good packaging design, and teach them to build a "backtracking system." let customers monitor the situation of the fruit at any time. Lai Yuanyuan said that as soon as the online store was built, it ushered in its first big customer, a WeChat businessman from Nanjing, who benefited from the cooperation and introduced the business to his friends. Then there were many WeChat businessmen in Shanghai, Qingdao, Dalian and other places. Through the Internet, kumquat sales have risen sharply.

Kumquat e-commerce like Lai Yuanyuan has more than 380 people in Rong'an, all of whom have received great help: in addition to pulling up optical fiber network cables for the village to connect fruit farmers with the outside world at any time, the local government also provides online store design, office space, and office supplies free of charge, so that e-commerce can work centrally and develop in groups. Rongan kumquat has been pre-sold online since May this year, and 75000 kilograms of kumquat have been pre-sold.

Ensure the quality and freshness of the fruit

Network marketing plays an important role in the great increase in sales. However, ensuring "quality" and "freshness" is also a "sharp weapon" for 10-fold sales growth.

Lai Yuanyuan told reporters that before the kumquat ripened, she went to Guilin, Liuzhou, Nanning and other places to select logistics companies to ensure the fastest and safest transportation. She is not careless in the quality control of fruit. Her cooperative has developed a strict management process: before picking and selecting fruit, Shanghai cotton must be placed at the bottom of the basket, pickers must cut their nails and wear gloves, and remove the stalks when picking, so as to avoid any scars on the surface of kumquat and keep the fruit fresh.

In addition, the local government sends experts to the fields every year to guide fruit growers to prevent diseases and insect pests for free. Fruit growers are familiar with biological pest control techniques such as trapping lights, yellow boards, and predation nets, and will solve some minor problems on their own.

It is understood that the output and quality of Rong'an kumquat is in the forefront of kumquat production areas in the country, and the rate of high-quality fruit is more than 85%. It was selected as one of the top 50 public brands in Chinese fruit region this year.

Harvest "golden fruit" to build a new house

On the day of the Golden Orange Festival, the orchard of Yang Xuanquan, 52, won the Rong'an "Green Food demonstration Garden" award. He is the leader of the star cooperative in General Town. He told reporters that with the support of the government, he did not have to worry about it, and he pulled his poor friends into the cooperative to develop the kumquat industry and get rich together.

Huang Wei, a 48-year-old member of the cooperative, was once very poor. At that time, in order to raise the tuition and living expenses of their children in high school, they borrowed money everywhere. In 2006, Yang Xuanquan, who first tasted the sweetness of kumquat, suggested that Huang Wei grow fruit and lend him 20,000 yuan as capital. After seven or eight years of kumquat cultivation, the life of Huang Wei and his family has improved, and now they have built a new house.

Yang Xuanquan told reporters that due to the government's vigorous publicity and promotion, Rongan kumquat is famous for its customers all over the country, almost all of them door-to-door acquisitions. Last year, the government also introduced a drip irrigation system for fruit farmers, which reduced the hard work of diverting and carrying water for fruit growers, and now it is easier to work and sell. And every fruit farmer who got rich built a new house.

In addition, the government began to implement the policy of "substituting awards for compensation" in 2013: 600 yuan per mu for planting more than 50 mu, and 900 yuan per mu for planting more than 100 mu. From 2014 to 2015, the policy benefited more than 9000 farmers, of whom more than 4000 were poor.
