Original title: Guangdong builds an "upgraded version" of agricultural material supervision

On December 28th, the Guangdong Provincial Information Office held a press conference on "opinions on further strengthening the Supervision of Agricultural Materials" (Guangdong Government letter (2015) No. 327) (hereinafter referred to as opinions). The background significance, main contents and highlights of the opinions were released to the public. Cai Shugan, member of the party group and chief animal husbandry and veterinary doctor of the Guangdong Provincial Agriculture Department, and relevant experts answered questions of concern to the media and society on the spot. Guangdong Province recently issued the opinions on further strengthening the supervision of agricultural materials, which put forward comprehensive, systematic and full-chain regulatory requirements for the supervision of agricultural materials in the province. As the "upgraded version" of Guangdong agricultural material supervision under the new situation, the "opinion" clearly establishes for the first time the accountability and compensation system of agricultural materials: "who is responsible for production, who is responsible for sales, and who is responsible for use".

According to the requirements of the "opinion", Guangdong will implement the designated management of highly toxic restricted pesticides and implement a ban on the sale of "extraterritorial only" pesticides, that is, pesticides that do not have applicable crops in the province. In other words, pesticides that are only applicable to cotton, apples and other crops will not be sold in Guangdong in the future.

According to a relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Agriculture, in 2015, agricultural departments at all levels in the province dispatched 206500 administrative law enforcement personnel, inspected 62600 production units, inspected 2700 batches of agricultural materials, and put on file to investigate and deal with 1035 illegal cases. there were no major incidents of agricultural materials and the quality and safety of agricultural products in the province throughout the year.
