Villagers in Qujiang Township, Renshou County start their own businesses and have a bumper harvest of mushrooms in winter.

Zhong Xiaohong, a villager of Liuhe Village, Qujiang Township, Renshou County, was checking the growth of mushrooms on January 5. Her family had another bumper harvest in winter with 100000 bags of mushrooms planted.

In 2013, Zhong Xiaohong and her husband built an edible mushroom greenhouse on their land, using locally discarded wood chaff, straw and corncob as raw materials to vigorously develop edible mushroom production. Through a year of experience, her family now has three edible mushroom greenhouses, from the original single production of mushrooms to Lentinus edodes, Coprinus comatus, Flammulina velutipes and other mushroom varieties. And sold to the major supermarkets and vegetable markets at a price of about 4-6 yuan per kilogram.

"it's much better to develop edible fungi at home to take care of children and earn money, which is much better than going out to work." Zhong Xiaohong is full of confidence in her choice and life.
