Wang Hui, a veteran expert in wheat breeding in Xinong.
Original title: the Life Code of Breeders-- A record of Wang Hui, a wheat expert from Northwest University of Agriculture and Forestry
Wang Hui learned about the growth of wheat in a demonstration field of an agricultural technology company in Yangling, Shaanxi Province (photo taken on December 28, 2015).
A simple wish supported him to take root in the small town of Yangling, bound with the land, and never left for 43 years. For more than ten years, the improved wheat variety "Xinong 979" selected by him has become one of the main winter wheat varieties in China. Honor is equal to his body, but he is willing to be insipid. In his eighty years, he still keeps his mind and works silently in the fields. He said that the "growth code" of wheat is to take root in the soil and the life of the breeders, which is meaningful only if they are ploughed deeply in the fields.
