Just do it! Xie Shanyang returned to his hometown to build a pigsty and went to Anhui to introduce 12 porcupine seedlings at 3500 yuan each.

However, problems ensued when I returned to my hometown. Five of them got sick and died as soon as they returned. Three months later, only four sows could not be bred, but they were sold to the restaurant for poor quality and could not get the price.

"tens of thousands of yuan just went down the drain." Xie Shanyang told Hainan Daily that at first his family repeatedly opposed it. Although there were porcupines in Qionghai Mountain in the early years, indicating that the climate was suitable for the growth of porcupines, if they wanted to breed on a large scale, they had never heard of anyone working around them.

Start a business and still care about porcupine.

The first large investment in aquaculture encountered Waterloo, Xie Shanyang was depressed and did not think about food and tea. Wang Dongmei, a girlfriend who works as an accountant in a company in Haikou, also asked for leave to come to Xie Shanyang's home to care and comfort him.

With a sense of family responsibility, he can do things more steadily." The good intentions of his parents and the care of his girlfriend cheered up Xie Shanyang and held a lively wedding in his hometown.

In 2011, Xie Shanyang and his wife took their father's cobbled together 100,000 yuan to open a stationery store in Guilin Yang University City, Haikou, but business was sluggish, and then they went to work in his wife's relative hotel in Guangzhou. At one point, they opened a small stall in the streets of Guangzhou to sell roast meat.

"but no matter what I do, I always think about porcupine." Xie Shanyang told reporters that in more than a year in Guangzhou, he delved more deeply into porcupine farming, and as soon as he had time to do business, he went to Anhui to learn breeding skills.

Seeing her husband's obsession with porcupine, Wang Dongmei made a bold decision at the end of 2012: she borrowed 200000 yuan from her mother's family to support her husband to raise porcupine again.

Successful breeding has realized the dream of becoming rich.

With 200000 yuan, the couple returned to the red land. "I found that this time he was different from the last time. He was very particular about building a pigsty, paying attention to ventilation and insulation, and doing things in an organized way." Father went from indifference to active support.

This time, 15 porcupine seedlings were introduced from Anhui and returned to the pig house, but the porcupine did not get sick, because the porcupine was fed with salt water locally, and then came back with salt water and controlled food intake, so that the porcupine gradually adapted to soil and water. During the growth process of porcupine, firmly do not feed feed containing hormones, but take local corn and other materials as the main material; epidemic prevention mainly uses traditional Chinese medicine, not antibiotics. This time, Xie Shanyang succeeded! at the end of 2013, 10 female porcupines gave birth to 15 baby porcupines.

Using the technology and experience mastered, Xie Shanyang began to boldly introduce porcupine seedlings. Today, there are 47 male porcupine, 94 female porcupine, more than 50 porcupine seedlings and more than 100 commercial porcupine in his porcupine pen. A commodity porcupine is 20 to 25 jin, and the market price is about 95 yuan per jin.

Xie Shanyang also set up a Sanle porcupine cooperative to lead the surrounding villagers to raise porcupine, buy its seedlings, teach breeding techniques, and ensure the recycling of commercial porcupine. Farmers in Sanya, Danzhou, Baisha and other places have come to buy porcupine seedlings and learn porcupine breeding techniques. With the support of Qionghai Youth League Committee, Science and Technology Bureau and other units, Xie Shanyang is building two more two-story porcupine farms to expand the scale of breeding pigs and commercial porcupines.

"the market on the island is in great demand. I don't want to do exclusive business. I hope it can drive more people to get rich and provide quality and inexpensive porcupines outside the island." Xie Shanyang said.
