What is an agricultural ecological park?

He has raised fish, fed pigs, grown vegetables and opened a supermarket. He has started his business since the 1990s. Now, through his own efforts, he has established a Haiquan agro-ecological park in Chen ci Village, Shuangxiqiao Town, Xianan District. And drive the neighbors to get rich together. The ecological park integrates agricultural tourism, leisure experience and the production and sales of agricultural and forestry products.

Aim at business opportunities and accumulate wealth

Liu Haixiong, 48, was born in Longtan Township, Xianan District. In 1984, after high school, he went home to work in the breeding industry with his father. At first he began to raise fish, but because of technical problems, he later switched to raising pigs, but the market for raising pigs was not good at that time.

In 1992, Liu Haixiong invited a chef with rich experience in growing vegetables from Honghu to come to the village to grow vegetables and learn planting techniques from him. This year, he earned more than 6000 yuan from more than one mu of vegetables.

Seeing Liu Haixiong make money by growing vegetables, the local villagers began to learn from him, and he selflessly taught the villagers the skills of growing vegetables. Later, with his help, many villagers' lives changed a lot.

Liu Haixiong said: "the key to starting a business is to be good at discovering business opportunities."

In 2000, Liu Haixiong found that the market prospect of sweet-scented osmanthus seedlings in Xianan was very good. As a result, he rented 20 mu of land, all cuttings planted sweet-scented osmanthus seedlings, less than 2 years, he earned hundreds of thousands of yuan.

Aiming at and seizing business opportunities, Liu Haixiong's assets have accumulated more and more like snowballs.

Lead the neighbors to get rich together

In 2009, when Liu Haixiong saw that many young adults in rural areas went out to work and a large amount of land was abandoned, he came up with the idea of leading the villagers to become rich on their doorstep. It happened that in this year, Liu Haixiong's mother suffered a stroke and was paralyzed, which made him realize the importance of health. As a result, he came up with the idea of establishing an agricultural ecological park.

Just do it. In 2010, Liu Haixiong transferred more than 400 mu of land in Chen ci Village, Shuangxiqiao Town, Xianan District, and established Haiquan Agricultural Ecological Park. The project has invested more than 3 million yuan, and the first phase of construction has been basically completed, integrating tourism, leisure, tasting, experience, production and sales of green agricultural products.

Liu Haixiong attached great importance to technical cooperation and successively carried out technical cooperation with Xianning Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Hubei Institute of Science and Technology. Combined with the overall planning of the agricultural ecological park, it fully reflects the measures to local conditions, comprehensive planning and design, cultivating high-quality works, creating a theme image, taking into account the benefits, and realizing sustainable development. In terms of function, according to the attributes of resources, landscape characteristics and existing environment, on the basis of considering to maintain the integrity of the original natural terrain and the original ecological park, combined with future development and objective needs.

At present, Liu Haixiong's agro-ecological park has more than 80 mu of plantation, 80 mu of orchards, 60 mu of Gui Garden and more than 40 mu of fish ponds, with an annual output value of about 3.5 million yuan and more than 8000 workers annually.

In recent years, Liu Haixiong has solved the employment problems of some local villagers and made many villagers become rich. He was successively rated as a model worker in Xianan District and a party member in Xianan District.

The construction of an ecological park is only a preliminary goal. For the second phase of the planning of the agricultural ecological park, Liu Haixiong plans to set up agricultural cooperatives to produce green agricultural products on a large scale according to quality standards, so that more local villagers can find jobs on their doorstep.

Liu Haixiong said that his next goal is to drive local farmers to become rich, run agro-ecological parks better, create their own agro-ecological brands, and let local agricultural products go further and further.
