In Majiang County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, people who know Yang Heting will affectionately call him Lao Yang. Over the past 10 years, Lao Yang has taken root in Majiang and cultivated blueberries. Except that his accent has not changed, he regards himself as a native of Majang and blueberries as his "child". If the blueberry seed is not successful, he will not go back to Ningbo. Lao Yang always firmly believes in his choice. It is his persistence that makes the local villagers see the new hope brought by blueberries and hitch a ride to get rich one after another.

Ningbo, Majang, blueberry, what kind of opportunity to let the three feelings pull together?

Yang Heting, a native of Zhejiang who was born in 1950, is one of the few contemporary college students. In the eyes of his wife Hu Ye Nong, Lao Yang is thoughtful, down-to-earth and willing to work. In 1992, the couple contracted for the livestock farm in Yongjiang Town, Ningbo City, and became the operator of the first "Wantou" pig farm in Ningbo. In 1999, taking advantage of the restructuring of state-owned enterprises, he established Zhejiang Fenghua Yile Food Co., Ltd. In 2004, Yang Heting's Le Food Co., Ltd., as the leading agricultural enterprise in Ningbo at that time, responded positively to the call of the central government to provide assistance in Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province.

Therefore, Lao Yang formed a bond with Guizhou.

Under the introduction of cadres in southeastern Guizhou, Yang Heting came to Danzhai County, Qiandongnan Prefecture for the first time to recruit workers. During a very occasional discussion, Lao Yang told the locals that his factory had been selecting and processing blueberries for export for a long time. These blueberries were imported into China from the United States and Canada, and then exported to Japan after selection. They sold well and had a good market.

Local cadres were delighted to hear him say this. A kind of blueberry cultivated in Majiang County, Qiandongnan Prefecture is very similar to the blueberry described by Lao Yang. After discovering the business opportunity, Lao Yang decided to make an on-the-spot investigation in Majiang County himself. He took the blueberry branches home and took them to Japanese experts to study. Experts say these are indeed blueberries, and the local natural environment is very suitable for growing organic blueberries.

Yang Heting was pleasantly surprised to get this result. With years of experience in processing foreign trade agricultural products, Lao Yang saw the unlimited potential of the blueberry market.

His wife Hu Yenong supported him to start a business in Guizhou. Because she knows that Lao Yang will try his best to do what he is sure to do, and planting blueberries in Guizhou can also lead the local people to get rich together and change the poverty there. For Hu Ye Nong, the biggest concern is her husband's diabetic body.

In 2005, the 55-year-old Lao Yang went to Majang alone to start a blueberry business.

In his first year in Guizhou, Lao Yang spent a lot of time planting blueberries. No matter what was big or small, he personally participated in and did it himself. Although he was tired, Lao Yang's heart was warm and the local government gave him great help and encouragement.

Majiang County Fruit Office is one of those who have been dealing with Lao Yang for the longest time. Long Xiaobo, a veteran comrade of the fruit office, talked endlessly about Lao Yang's bitter and happy things about growing blueberries in Majang. "if we say that Lao Yang is the most grateful person in our fruit office, it is he who has made our cause recognized."

Since 2000, the county fruit office has successfully introduced blueberries, and then made continuous breakthroughs in blueberry cultivation and seedling breeding, and the blueberry industry began to show great potential for development. Blueberry seedlings have been cultivated and blueberries have borne fruit, but people at that time did not know much about blueberries and were not sure whether there was a market for blueberries, so they dared not take risks easily.

The arrival of Lao Yang undoubtedly ignited the hope of the fruit office. With the efforts of all parties, Yang Heting registered and established "Majiang Qianyong Blueberry Co., Ltd.". Guizhou is southeast Guizhou, and Ningbo is Ningbo. The name of "Guizhou-Ningbo Blueberry Co., Ltd." shows Yang Heting's good intentions.

Lao Yang bought seedlings from the county fruit office. From the beginning, he planted 350 mu of blueberries, measured the land, dug tree holes, drew lines, fertilized, and irrigated. In order to take care of the growth of blueberries, Lao Yang built a shed in the blueberry base, eating and living on the mountain with farmers.

At that time, the base did not have access to the road, Lao Yang rode a motorcycle up the mountain, and when it rained, he could only take the muddy road. Over the past 10 years, he has traveled through the mountains, riding three motorcycles and driving a Mitsubishi car.

"I never wanted to back down. Now that I'm here, I'm going to do it well." Lao Yang is wholeheartedly hoping that blueberries will grow up soon.

But everything is hard at the beginning. The seedlings planted in the first year were inexperienced and eager for success. In April and May of the second year after planting, the seedlings died of drought and lost more than 60,000 yuan.

You can no longer plant seedlings blindly. Considering the particularity of the mountain terrain in Guizhou, it is not realistic to rely on manual irrigation to meet the irrigation of seedlings if there is a drought and water shortage. Therefore, Lao Yang came up with a way to buy a nutrition cup, put the seedlings dug in the soil, centralized watering management, and so on cultivated to a certain height and then replanted in the soil.

In this way, by the spring of 2007, Lao Yang had planted blueberry seedlings on seven blueberry bases covering an area of 1000 mu, such as Xuanwei Town and Longshan Town in Majiang County. That spring, the seedlings grew very well.

In Lao Yang's seven blueberry bases, there are an average of 30 people in charge of fruit picking and pruning in each base, with a daily salary of 60 yuan per person, plus overtime pay. He has never owed his wages for many years and has never been stingy with the help he can provide. In Lao Yang, you can't see the airs of a boss at all, and everyone doesn't call him Boss Yang, which seems awkward.

In 2009, Lao Yang's blueberry tree produced 10 tons of fresh fruit the first time it hung fruit. In 2010, the output reached 50 tons, and in 2011 it reached 100 tons. Seeing the hope of Lao Yang's blueberry planting, the farmers decided to throw off their arms and work with him.

"Don't be afraid. The blueberries planted can't be sold. I'll take care of the harvest. The more people there are, the more an industry can be formed. I am insignificant by myself, and I need to rely on everyone to make Majang blueberries have a place in the market. " A few crisp words gave the farmers a reassurance.

As a veteran employee of Yang Heting, Wang Qing has been planting management for Lao Yang's blueberry base since 2006. Now as the manager of the production management department of the company, he is responsible for managing all of Lao Yang's blueberry bases.

When Wang Qinggang graduated, he happened to meet Lao Yang who had just come to Majang to grow blueberries because he majored in fruit tree planting. He was recommended to Lao Yang by the County Fruit Office for eight years.

"thanks to Lao Yang for providing me with this opportunity, I also learned a lot of experience in management and marketing with him." As Lao Yang's right-hand man, relying on Lao Yang's company platform and market customers, Wang Qing became a blueberry sales broker.

"if you don't sell blueberries well, go to Wang Qing." Long Xiaobo of the fruit office said to the reporter.

Led by Lao Yang, Wang Qing became the first pioneer to grow blueberries. From 2009 to now, he has developed more than 100 mu of acreage and registered to set up small and micro enterprises. By getting on Lao Yang's bus, Wang Qing's business has sprung up.

There are many farmers who have been driven up like Wang Qing. In the early years, Tian Rulian of the Gaojiang Group in Gonghe Village, Longshan Town, worked in Lao Yang's company, while her husband, long Guoben, worked outside. Employees with a wait-and-see attitude saw that there was a market for Lao Yang's blueberries, and after Lao Yang promised to buy at a guaranteed price, they all spontaneously planted blueberries one after another.

At present, the planting area of blueberries in Majang has reached 47000 mu, and 32 enterprises have participated in blueberry production and cultivation. The county has set up a blueberry industry technology association and 15 farmers' professional cooperatives, driving more than 600 farmers to plant blueberries and benefiting more than 4000 households. In 2014, the area of hanging fruit reached 18000 mu, the output reached 2400 tons, and the output value of fresh fruit reached 72 million yuan.
