At Jiao Liangjie's cobra breeding base, the reporter saw that nearly a thousand snakes were separated in dozens of airtight compartments, each of which was covered with thick bedding. Jiao Liangjie walked calmly into one of the cubicles, lifted the quilt, gently grabbed the snake and checked its growth. The wriggling body and the tongue sticking out from time to time are daunting.

Jiao Liangjie said that more than 5000 snakes farmed this year have grown to three or four months old, because the temperature is relatively low just after winter. In order to prevent the snakes from hibernating, he specially raised the indoor temperature to 33 degrees. In this way, the cobra can eat and gain weight quickly.

Every other day, Jiao Liangjie and the workers at the base feed the snakes. Cobra's food is frozen chickens bought from a nearby poultry hatchery, more than 5000 snakes, and tens of thousands of chickens are eaten every month.

Jiao Liangjie said that he used to be a long-distance truck driver, but in 2014, because of his old age and the depressed transportation industry, he decided to change careers and went to Qingzhou, Guangxi to learn cobra farming skills. In the first year after coming back, 1000 cobras were raised and sold to Guangzhou, Shanghai and Fujian at a price of 180 yuan per jin, reaping hundreds of thousands of profits. In 2015, through land transfer, he expanded his farm to 2600 square meters and could raise 15, 000 snakes at the same time.

This year, Jiao Liangjie once again through land transfer, obtained more than 20 mu of land, intends to carry out cobra breeding at the same time, the development of feed layer breeding.
