On February 23, just after the Spring Festival, more than 20 workers began to be busy in a greenhouse on the Red Flag Family Farm in Yuli County.

In the huge greenhouse, one by one green Chinese wolfberry seedlings are carefully transplanted into nutritious soil by workers. After more than a month of cultivation, they will be sold to Hotan, Kashgar, Qinghai, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and other parts of the country.

The cultivation of Chinese wolfberry seedlings is a meticulous work, which requires workers to be careful enough. If the strength is too strong, it is easy to hurt the young seedlings. If the strength is not enough, the Chinese wolfberry seedlings cannot be planted successfully. Although Dong Changyu, a villager of Tuanjie Township in Yuli County, has only been here for three days, he is like a mature seedling worker. "it's not tiring. I still have 80 yuan a day, and I can count down more than 2,000 yuan a month. I'm very happy to work here." Dong Changyu said.

Today, the Lycium barbarum seedling base of Hongqi Family Farm in Yuli County has solved the employment of more than 200 local rural surplus labor force like Dong Changyu.

"the farm has a total of 1500 mu of seedling base, including 500mu of greenhouse and 1000 mu of open field, including black wolfberry and red wolfberry." Lu Weifeng, head of Hongqi Family Farm in Yuli County, told reporters that these Chinese wolfberry seedlings will be put on the market one after another from the end of March to early May and will be delivered to farmers inside and outside Xinjiang.

Because of his high ecological value and economic benefits of Chinese wolfberry industry, in 2014, Lu Weifeng set his sights on the Chinese wolfberry industry and invited forest and fruit experts from the Academy of Forestry Sciences of the autonomous region to study it together. After a year of repeated experiments, his team finally cultivated Chinese wolfberry seedlings with high survival rate and fruit hanging rate, and set up the first black Chinese wolfberry research institute in early 2015.

"since August last year, some customers have signed orders for 30 million plants with us one after another. I also hope that through my own efforts, I can help more farmers transform and get rich." Lu Weifeng said.
