Zhanjiang Mazhang District Huguang Town Potang Village, the East China Sea Haiwei Nayu Creek, the coastline is 10 kilometers long, mainly to cultivate big oysters and prawns. Due to the injection of the freshwater basin of the Yuxi River, the sea water is moderately salty and brackish, which is especially suitable for the growth of oysters. At present, mariculture has formed a scale, with an area of more than 10000 mu for oyster culture and more than 6000 mu for shrimp culture in the village. marine culture income has become the main source of income for the villagers.

Big oysters are rich in iron, zinc, potassium and other elements, delicious taste, "oysters" also have the reputation of "milk in the sea". This kind of "green food", which is rich in natural planktonic bait in sea water, is more and more favored by people, and the market demand is great. Generally in May, seedlings can be harvested after four or five months of growth, and can be officially supplied to the market during the National Day period. The oysters from November to the Spring Festival are the most fat and delicious. At most, there were more than 100 workers on the shore at the same time, dividing oysters and prying oysters. As the local oysters are well-known, businessmen from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Yangjiang and other places have come to local acquisitions. Because of oysters, in recent years, many people have built new buildings and embarked on the road to wealth.

Recently, the author used the camera to record the gratifying scene of harvesting raw oysters. It is the harvest season for big oysters. When we came to the big oyster breeding wharf in Potang Village early in the morning, we saw a busy scene at the wharf. When I boarded the ship, I saw that the villagers were busy sorting the big oysters. They told me that the big oysters were sorted into large, medium and small oysters, and they were priced according to the size of the oysters when they sold them. Due to the broad market prospect of big oysters, oyster prices are on the rise all the way.

Wu Huaping, a member of the village committee, told me that the oysters are particularly large this year, and the price has also gone up. The price of oyster meat is generally 30 yuan per kilogram, and the price of oysters with shells is about 6 yuan per kilogram, which is about 10% higher than last year. According to reports, the output of oysters in Potang Village this year has increased by 20% compared with last year. Raising oysters has brought about great changes in the lives of villagers. In the past, earthen houses have become tile buildings, and people who used to ride bicycles are now driving motorcycles. "the high yield of oysters is closely related to their growing environment. The sea water should not be too salty or too light. This year's rainfall is just in line with the growth needs of oysters, so they grow particularly fat." Wu Huaping explained.
