Early in the morning of March 10, Jinlong Community, Sanhui Town, Zhongxian County, was surrounded by thick fog, and the ground that had just rained was somewhat slippery. Not far away, in a large field of medicinal materials, Tian Enrong is weeding weeds.

"these herbs will sprout when the weather gets warmer in a few days." Tian Enrong said that whether it was sunny or rainy, he went to see the "babies" in the field.

Tian Enrong, 43, who lives in Group 6 of Jinlong Community, Sanhui Town, Zhongxian County, has been interested in growing Chinese herbal medicine since he was a child, but it has not been realized for various reasons.

After graduating from junior high school in 1989, Tian Enrong has been working in clothing factories in Guangdong and Zhejiang. After working abroad for more than 20 years, he never gave up his dream of growing medicinal materials.

At the end of 2013, Tian Enrong decided to return to his hometown for development. After learning about Tian Enrong's plan, his father, who knew about traditional Chinese medicine, told him that planting Scutellaria barbata had a short cycle and good benefits. The annual output per mu is expected to reach 500kg, with an income of 3000 yuan.

After the Spring Festival in 2014, Tian Enrong transferred more than 80 mu of land in the village, and then introduced more than 500 kilograms of Scutellaria barbata seeds from Anhui, starting his dream of herbal medicine.

Unexpectedly, as soon as the seeds fell into the field, they encountered continuous overcast and rainy weather. In June of that year, due to lack of management experience, all the lotus planted were rotten in the field, and all the 130000 yuan invested by Tian Enrong fell through. Tian Enrong found that Scutellaria barbata had a purchase point only in Bozhou, Anhui Province, so he gave up growing Scutellaria barbata.

Tian Enrong was not discouraged. In September 2014, he planted 6 kilograms of kohlrabi seeds sent by his cousin Tian Huaqing on the original more than 80 mu of land, which basically made up for the loss in addition to labor fees.

In October 2014, Zhongxian Poverty Alleviation Office sent Tian Enrong to Wanzhou to participate in free training in the cultivation of Chinese herbal medicine. During this time, he met Lei Zeliang and Zhang Qun from Shizhu County, who planted Qianhu. After 10 days of training, Tian Enrong slowly mastered the planting technology of medicinal materials. Tian Enrong immediately went to Lei Zeliang's medicine field to learn scriptures. He found that the climatic conditions in his hometown were very suitable for the growth of Bupleurum. When he got home, he immediately used 10 mu of land to try to grow Bupleurum. Do not want to, unexpectedly one-time success, the output per mu of Peucedanum reached 400kg, achieving an income of 4000 yuan.

In April 2015, Tian Enrong went to the main city of Chongqing to participate in free training in the planting techniques of Chinese herbal medicine and mastered the planting techniques of Bupleurum. In that year, his planting area of Bupleurum reached 130 mu.

Seeing Tian Enrong's industry getting bigger and bigger, Lei Zeliang and Zhang Qun envied him very much. In March this year, they jointly established Zhongxian Mengyu Co., Ltd., which expanded the planting area of Qianhu to 300 mu.

"We are going to build a fruit base and develop diversified industries in the next step." Tian Enrong said confidently.
