Xu Zuoxiong, director of the Chushankuo traditional Chinese Medicine planting Professional Cooperative in Sangzhi County, is a migrant worker returning home from Lijiawu Village, Qiaoziqu Township, Sangzhi County. He is a simple and honest man in the mountains. There is not much wild talk and arrogance. The difficult living environment tempered his strong and resolute character. Because of his hard work and active willingness to work, he led the villagers to dig out the "golden doll" from the barren land. Become the leader of getting rich in the cultivation of medicinal materials.

A thoughtful person who is good at catching business opportunities

In 1976, Xu Zuoxiong was born in Lijiawu Village, Qiaoziwan Township, Sangzhi County. In 1995, Xu Zuoxiong graduated from high school. When he failed in the college entrance examination, he could have been admitted to college for another year, but the weather happened. In 1994, his father, who was the backbone of the family, died and his mother was over sixty. Xu Zuoxiong felt sorry for his mother and could not bear his mother's hard work. In 1996, Xu Zuoxiong packed his bags and went to work in Shenzhen for 14 years. In 2008, 32-year-old Xu Zuoxiong and Li Aiguo, a fellow-villager who had been working outside for 11 years, met and loved each other and started a family, and soon had their first child after marriage. The couple were working outside, so they had to leave their two-or three-year-old children to their nearly eighty-year-old mother. They couldn't bear it or feel at ease. After thinking about it, the couple made up their mind to go back to their hometown to start a business. In 2010, the couple returned to Lijiawu Village, Qiaoziwan Township, to build a house while looking for a way for the family to become rich and well-off for three years.

Xu Zuoxiong is not only a thoughtful man, but also a cautious man. More than 10 years of working career has trained him to have a keen sense of business opportunities. After investigating the market situation and going deep into the homes of Chinese medicine growers in the county to understand the planting and sales of traditional Chinese medicine, he found that there is considerable profit space for the cultivation of traditional Chinese medicine. When things are certain, just do it. In early 2013, Xu Zuoxiong started his arduous business. He transferred 5.8 mu of his villagers' land, plus his 1.2 mu of 7 mu of land, and began his dream of a well-off society. He first invested 6000 yuan to try to plant Angelica dahurica

Xu Zuoxiong didn't want others to see jokes, so he invested 4000 yuan to plant Radix Isatidis. For the same reason, at different times, the seedlings began to grow well, and a month later they became thin and withered. His wife Li Aiguo quit, and the money for starting a business was the hard-earned money earned by the couple working outside the country. when he saw her husband throwing money in the land, the wife wanted to go out to work. Xu Zuoxiong disagreed, and the couple had differences and began the cold war. Xu Zuoxiong, who failed to plant for the first time, carefully analyzed the reasons and came to the conclusion that he had planted at the wrong time and lacked experience.

A persistent person who blazes new trails.

Shi Wanxiang of the Wanxiang traditional Chinese Medicine Farmers' Professional Cooperative in Sangzhi County is regarded as an entrepreneurial "idol" by Xu Zuoxiong. Shi Wanxiang planted and managed traditional Chinese medicine to send his two children to college and bought a house for their children in Changsha. The story of "idol" inspired Xu Zuoxiong. So he went to Shi Wanxiang and modestly learned from him the technical experience of growing and managing Chinese herbal medicines. In the second half of 2013, Xu Zuoxiong did his wife's ideological work, transferred 10 mu of villagers' land, planted 17 mu of Polygonatum odoratum, raised cattle and 8 mu of Atractylodes macrocephala seedlings. Hard work will eventually pay off. after half a year, Xu Zuoxiong sold some of his seedlings and earned 120000 yuan.

The news that the land had been dug up as a "golden doll" spread all over the village, and the villagers began to take a fresh look at Xu Zuoxiong. Most of the young people in the village went out to work, leaving only women, children and the elderly, and a lot of land was idle. Xu Zuoxiong transferred 100 mu of land to 40 households at an annual price of 300 yuan per mu, planting 30 mu of papaya, 14 mu of Polygonatum odoratum, 35 mu of Atractylodes macrocephala, 12 mu of horseshoe rhubarb and 8 mu of Niu Mengzi. Most of these Chinese herbal medicines benefit in one or two years. The net income of Polygonatum odoratum is 10, 000 yuan per mu, Atractylodes macrocephala is 4000 yuan per mu, horseshoe rhubarb is 4000 yuan per mu, Niu Mengzi is 5000 yuan per mu, papaya planting for 3 years began to benefit, according to the current market situation, the annual mu income is more than 8000 yuan. Xu Zuoxiong touched the dream of a well-off society in the land.

In order to start his own brand, Xu Zuoxiong founded the Chushankuo traditional Chinese Medicine specialized Cooperative in Sangzhi County in August 2014, and in January 2015, Xu Zuoxiong established a family farm in Sangzhi County, which is dominated by the cultivation of Chinese herbal medicines and intercropped with herbal vegetables, fruits and grains.

Feed the promising people of the neighbors.

Xu Zuoxiong, who tasted the benefits of starting a business for the first time, was not satisfied with his wealth. Being rich is not rich, and it has always been a dream on Xu Zuoxiong's mind to lead the masses to embark on the road of prosperity. "growing grain on the land is really not as good as growing traditional Chinese medicine. People have to dig gold out of the soil and grow crops with better returns." Xu Zuoxiong leased the idle land in the village and hired villagers who stayed at home in the village to help him grow traditional Chinese medicine on his own land. Xu Zuoxiong's 100 mu of traditional Chinese medicine earns 200000 yuan a year for the villagers who work alone. Now, many elderly women who stay at home in the village are employed at their doorstep, with something to do and money to earn.

Xu Zuoxiong set up a mountain family farm, which received a positive response from the village branch secretary to Guilin. He and Xu Zuoxiong planted 50 mu of traditional Chinese medicine together, with an income of only 15 mu of Atractylodes macrocephala in 2014 and 100000 yuan in 2015. Under the drive and influence of Xu Zuoxiong, 11 households in the village planted traditional Chinese medicine, less than 3 mu and more than 14 mu. Those who did not plant traditional Chinese medicine took the land to work in Xu Zuoxiong's traditional Chinese medicine planting land.

Xu Zuoxiong, who is already a probationary member of the Communist Party of China, has a big dream of being well-off. He wants to work with the villagers to turn Lijiawu Village into a specialized village with a planting area of 2000 mu of traditional Chinese medicine, and build another crude processing plant of traditional Chinese medicine to form a Chinese medicine industry with one stop in production, supply and marketing. At that time, the young people in the village will work on their own land and in front of their homes.

Now, unwittingly, the whole village has developed more than 500 mu of traditional Chinese medicine. With the continuous participation of farmers, it is planned that by 2020, the whole village will develop 2000 mu of traditional Chinese medicine. Xu Zuoxiong is gradually realizing his dream of being well-off on the land.
