Wang Bingquan: return to his hometown to plant "Lin Guo Meng"
On March 25, the reporter and his entourage came to Yanjiabao Village, Hetou Township, Huairen County, where a grape forest and pear forest appeared in the farmland. Wang Bingquan, the owner of these fruits, is pruning the branches of fruit trees. "the weather is getting warmer and warmer," Wang Bingquan told reporters with a smile. "the buds should also be cut so that the fruit will grow better."
Wang Bingquan, who is in his 50s this year, is not only the executive director of the Forest and Fruit Association of Huairen County, but also a member of the Pear Branch of the Chinese Society of Horticulture. He can be said to be an expert in forest and fruit cultivation, as well as a dreamer with the dream of forest and fruit in his heart. When it comes to Wang Bingquan's bond with fruit, it starts in 1996, when he was young and began to sell fruit between Datong and Hebei, and later settled in Hebei because of his wife. While living in Hebei, he became acquainted with a local fruit grower and gradually learned that his hometown, Huairen, a wild family in Yanmen pass, wore a fur coat and gauze in the morning and ate watermelons around the stove. With good soil quality, good sunshine, and great temperature difference between day and night, Huairen is especially suitable for growing fruit. As a result, Wang Bingquan's dream of going back to his hometown to grow fruit slowly sprouted.
In 2008, Wang Bingquan returned to Yanjiabao Village, Huairen County, with a combination of technology and hundreds of thousands of savings, and began to try to grow fruits suitable for the local soil and water of Huairen. During the past seven or eight years, he successively planted and grafted more than 40 kinds of fruits, including grapes, pears and apricots. After continuous attempts, Wang Bingquan harvested his own leading products of wind resistance and cold resistance-the ribbon-free grape "Longyuan No. 1" and cylindrical honey pear. Because it is located outside the plug, similar to the climate with large temperature difference between day and night, Longyuan No. 1 ribose-free grape contains more than 23% sugar, tastes sweeter than ordinary grapes, and ripens earlier; the improved cylindrical honey pear varieties can not open umbrellas in the trunk, concentrate on hanging fruit, strong fruit body, large sugar content in flesh, wind and drought protection, and can be listed before the Mid-Autumn Festival every year. This year, Wang Bingquan planted a total of 10 mu of "Longyuan No. 1", with an estimated output value of more than 100,000 yuan.
Wang Bingquan told reporters that before he returned to his hometown, his life in Hebei was already very stable. "I think people always have to live out their own value in life, and they can't learn their skills in vain without using them. I just want to lead the people back home to increase their income and get rich by growing fruits through their own success." Talking about why he returned to his hometown of Huairen, Wang Bingquan said frankly. To this end, during the day, he went through the 50 mu of fresh fruit fields he planted, watering, pruning, wiring, management and protection, and continued to learn the knowledge of fruit tree cultivation in the evening. and spent two hours to complete the editing tasks of the two moderators of the "Saibei Fruit Tree Forum" website and the "Fruit Gang" website, and spent the rest of his time communicating with netizens, replying to all kinds of netizens' messages, and making daily work logs and labor plans.
Today, farmers in Yanjiabao Village and surrounding villages in Huairen County have begun to learn fruit planting techniques from Wang Bingquan, and try to graft and cultivate small areas in their own courtyards and fields. Wang Bingquan's dream is igniting the dreams of more and more Huairen people, and a road to prosperity by planting forest fruits in Saibei is gradually becoming a reality.
