40,000 catties of local tangerines hang on the branches, after the fruit-picking period for 4 months still no sales, even hired people to pick to the surrounding preserved fruit factory wages can not make up, can only let it slowly rot in the branches and orchards.

Not far from this tangerine garden located in Longdu Town, Chenghai District, Shan Tou City, a lime orchard has just completed an "e-commerce rescue" action not long ago. After several tons of lime are also hanging fruit, the "reverse sticker promotion" of local famous e-commerce helps avoid the dilemma of fruit rot in treetops.

Overripe tangerines can no longer replicate the "e-commerce promotion" model, but enthusiastic electric merchants and owners of green lemon orchards still become volunteers, appealing to citizens to subscribe_As a result, in just three days, nearly ten thousand catties of tangerines in orchards were picked from treetops by enthusiastic enterprises and citizens. Interestingly, the data show that nearly half of these sales come from citizens driving from neighboring towns.

As a deputy to the National People's Congress this year, Chen Liangxian, secretary of Shantou Municipal Party Committee, put forward suggestions during the "two sessions" to incorporate leisure agriculture into tourism development planning. The Chenghai orange rescue operation also triggered Chenghai fruit farmers and electricity merchants to think about leisure agriculture.

Tangerines plagued by slow sales

Jin Huaimao is a fruit farmer in Houxi Village, Longdu Town, Chenghai District, Shan Tou City. He runs an orchard with an area of about 15 mu here. Most of the fruit trees in the orchard are local Chaozhou oranges. The picking period of mandarin orange is generally after November every year, and the peak season of sales is before the Spring Festival_Chaoshan people like to buy Chaozhou mandarin orange during the Spring Festival, meaning good luck.

But once the Spring Festival, the fruit slowly overripe, coupled with more rain and other reasons, citrus began to lose fruit.

Unsalable, but Jin Huaimao has no way. He also thought of selling the fruit to the nearby preserved fruit factory at a low price, but the price of a few cents per catty was not enough to cover the wages and freight of the workers who collected the tangerines. "Now a woman who helps in an orchard costs 120 dollars a day, and she has to hire a car to carry it, which may cost her money. The tangerines will rot when they fall to the ground, and then they will have insects. At first, they will be picked up and transported to a distant place to throw them away. Later, there will be too many tangerines (dropped tangerines) to throw away, so they will simply leave them alone." said one of the workers in the orange orchard helplessly.

Jin Huaimao's 15 mu orchard is expected to yield about 5000 jin per mu. In April, a strange phenomenon this year is that some fruit trees bloom again before they are all picked. After experiencing cold wave and rainy weather, Jin Huaimao's orchard tangerine dropped nearly half, leaving about 40,000 jin tangerine unsalable.

For Jin Huaimao, this kind of slow-selling dilemma is simply "no solution". He didn't know where to expand his market, worried all day, and had already cut down many old fruit trees.

On April 2, Du Yongzhu, who runs "Jingdong·Shantou Agricultural Specialty Hall," learned the news that his hometown Jin Huaimao tangerine was slow to sell, and came to the orchard for on-the-spot investigation. "I came here to see it on the spot. This batch of Chaozhou oranges is overripe and not good in appearance, but the quality and taste are quite acceptable." Unable to sell the overripe tangerines across the country by express delivery, Du decided to try to help Kim Huaimao through his own influence and platform.

Self-driving cars jam country lanes

Du Yongzhu in his circle of friends released the field investigation after the slow sales of tangerine news graphic.

After the news was released, friends began to order Chaozhou oranges through Du Yongzhu. There are also many enthusiastic citizens who continue to forward and disseminate this message by copying and forwarding it. This message soon became the content of Shantou media reports, and the effectiveness of dissemination was further enhanced.

While Jin Huaimao was worried in the orchard, he did not know that his orchard had become what everyone called "Love Orange Garden". Jin Zhuoman, the owner of the nearby orchard, knew Du Yongzhu because of the slow sale of fruit trees before, so he also became a volunteer of this "Love Orange Garden"_Just when the reporter went to interview on the 5th, Jin Zhuoman was still in Shantou Urban area to deliver citrus for subscribers. He volunteered to show us the way.

Shantou Main City arrived at Jinhuaimao orchard, from the highway down, in front of an easy-to-find school and into the orchard intersection, have been carefully placed "love orange garden" guide board, convenient for citizens to pick.

"On the 4th, it was still a holiday. Many people drove to the orchard and picked it on the spot." Jin Zhuoman said, Many people are a family size together, Come here to see the scenery, Go green play at the same time to pick some Chaozhou orange back to eat. That day, the path into the orchard was full of cars, and the orchard had never been so lively.

After inventory, as of the 4th, that is, the day after the news was released, the total amount of citrus picked through friends 'orders and arriving at the orchard exceeded 6000 jin_and among them, the citrus picked at the orchard exceeded 3000 jin. For Jin Huaimao's price of 1 yuan and 1 catty, a couple picking in the orchard said they didn't mind the price very much. They came here from Shantou's Urban area after seeing the news, and planned to visit the countryside of Longdu Town. "This season is very suitable for playing in Longdu. The nearby Qianmei Village is also very beautiful." The man said.

Fruit farmer Jin Huaimao's pressure, also with a large bag of citrus carried away, a lot of relief.

There was the lemonade problem.

Just next door to Jin Huaimao's orchard is a comprehensive farm of green lemon, dragon fruit, lotus fog and other fruit trees run by Jin Zhuoman and his relatives. Just a few months ago, Jin Zhuoman carefully planted more than two years of green lemons ushered in a bumper harvest, but he also encountered sales problems.

Coincidentally, Du Yongzhu sold several tons of green lemons for him at one time through a promotion campaign launched on the e-commerce platform.

"I know that he didn't make any money from this e-commerce promotion. He might even lose money." Jin Zhuoman said. 6 green lemons, weighing nearly 2 jin, plus the price of only 9.9 yuan for free shipping nationwide, helped Jin Zhuoman sell fresh green lemons all over China.

After that emergency promotion of lime, and then met the slow-selling problem of orange garden next door, Jin Zhuoman was also inspired by this mode of public welfare dissemination ordering and family self-driving to the origin of self-picking. "Modern agriculture needs modern farmers. They can't be busy in orchards. They should take the initiative to contact the Internet. At the same time, they can also combine the overall planning of fruit farmers to turn large orchards and farms into leisure places for urban people." Jin Zhuoman said in his comprehensive farm.
