Try to get rid of poverty

When Zhu Derong's parents came in 1958, he, who was born in 1966, told reporters that the life of farmers has never been better. "when I was young, there were no roads and no food in the village, and every family was worried about filling their stomachs." Zhu Derong said that there are three brothers and sisters in his family, and the adobe house where he lived when he was a child is not as big as the sheepfold of the villagers now; trousers bought with 5 yuan can be worn for three Spring Festival; because the family is poor, brothers and sisters build a cotton net to sleep, and often pull each other at night, a hole is easily broken in the middle of the cotton net, and the brothers and sisters are beaten for this.

Since then, Zhu Derong's greatest wish is to work hard to get rid of poverty.

"Life is so easy for today's farmers." Zhu Derong said that the construction plan of Unification New Village fully respects the rural living habits of farmers, taking into account not only the benefits of their production and convenience of life, but also their entrepreneurial development. In September 2014, after nearly seven months of intense construction, the first batch of 212 villagers received the keys to the new house of the United New Village. The quality of the house is very good, and the apartment type is in step with the popularity of the city. At the same time, there are two vegetable greenhouses for each household. As soon as the villagers moved in, they began to grow vegetables in winter.

Zhu Derong clearly remembers that on August 30, 2014, 10 minutes after dividing the house, the village ushered in a moment of celebration. Many villagers began to set off firecrackers, "crackling" resounded through the village, as lively as the Spring Festival.

This day is not any festival, but the village is as lively as a festival. Some post-80s and post-90s landless farmers from seven townships in Hotan City have ushered in a superior platform for entrepreneurial development. The original monotonous village was embellished with bright colors on this day, and many Uygur villagers put on beautiful clothes and danced.

Despite his rich experience in grass-roots work, Zhu Derong did not realize until this moment that not only life here is different from that in the past, but even work is "not quite the same as originally thought."

"dealing with disputes, for example, sounds like a very small thing, but it is not easy to do." Zhu Derong said, "here, it is more like a kind of creative work."

United New Village itself is an active exploration of an embedded community, and the main content of working here is to explore how to play a role in promoting ethnic exchanges, exchanges and harmony, and more importantly, through the mixed habitation of residents of all ethnic groups, we can achieve the transmission of planting and breeding techniques, and enhance mutual understanding and mutual trust.

Since taking office on August 16, 2014, in the past two years, Zhu Derong has lost 7 kilograms and slept no more than five or six hours a day, lying down full of village affairs. Although he was proud of it, when asked if he was tired, he sincerely admitted: "tired!" Very tired! "

According to Zhu Derong, when he first entered the village, although he was assigned a house, he had no time to decorate, so he slept on the cement floor for four months and ate instant noodles for two months.

"at that time, there were no cameras installed in the village, and we slept on the roof of the village committee for five months. we could observe all the little things like who drank and fought and didn't pay for meals on the roof, and it was interesting to think about it." Zhu Derong smiled and said, "just get up every morning, just like a mud monkey."

"if you risk your whole life, do two things"-- this is Zhu Derong's greatest life goal since he took office.

United New Village has been divided into two groups to move a total of 534 villagers, ethnic minorities and Han nationality accounted for exactly half of the proportion, each household has two vegetable greenhouses. Over the past two years, Zhu Derong has focused on leading the villagers to get rid of poverty and maintaining social stability in the village. whenever he has time, he will turn around the village to learn about the cultivation of vegetables in the villagers' greenhouse, and every half a month, he also holds regular meetings to tell the villagers when to grow what kind of vegetables, how much the temperature is controlled at what degrees Celsius, and what are the key technical points for growing vegetables in the greenhouse.

Just the day before the reporter interviewed him, another villager found him. The villager said that the vegetables he had grown in the greenhouse had not borne fruit for three months, and the agricultural technician in the village asked him to pull them all out.

On hearing this, Zhu Derong was anxious on the spot. He told the villager that he must not pull it out. The hard work of the previous three months would be in vain! He asked the villager to bring him the seed bag and found that because he could not read, the villager should have bought the seeds in the greenhouse but mistakenly bought them in the open field.

So Zhu Derong personally went to the villager's house. After checking the growth of vegetables, he told the villagers that in the past few days, the heat preservation of the vegetable greenhouse was half uncovered and half covered, so that the vegetables gradually adapted to the temperature of the greenhouse.
