Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Shi Jinglei leads the villagers to the well-off road of raising donkeys.

As the saying goes, "dragon meat in the sky, donkey meat in the ground", donkeys are covered with treasures, donkeys are less sick and easy to breed. Shi Jinglei, a villager of Quyang County, has embarked on the road to prosperity by breeding meat donkeys.

On April 1, the author saw in the Quyang County breeding factory that a fat donkey was grazing leisurely, the donkey's naive, playful black eyes dripping about, cute as cute as a deer.

"Donkeys are particularly easy to raise. They eat grass three times a day. In February, the more than 100 meat donkeys we bought have gained more than 50 jin after a month of rearing. If it goes on like this, they will be out of the fence in another six months." Shi Jinglei, the manager of the farm, who is busy with the workers, told me.

In 2015, as a father of two, he felt that he could not live like this all his life. after several thoughts, he resolutely decided to start a business in his hometown. It is necessary to make a career in the countryside with concrete actions. Xixingshu Village is a plain village, relying mainly on farming, there is no village enterprise in the village, and the villagers have been working in other places for many years. After many investigations and searching materials, Shi Jinglei decided to rely on the current situation of growing corn in the village to develop the aquaculture industry. On the one hand, he can get rich, and on the other hand, he can arrange for the middle-aged and young people in the village to come to the factory for employment.

In the summer of 2015, Shi Jinglei and his village partners Shi long and Shi Qiang began preparatory work on what materials to use to build farms and what kind of farms to build. With these questions, he visited a number of farmers and made an investment budget. At the beginning of the construction of the breeding factory, he did not have much money, so he took out more than 100,000 yuan to buy a house in the county seat, borrowed some from relatives and friends, and raised 500000 yuan. Since October, the farm officially broke ground. in those days, they got up at 5am to work and went to bed after 10:00 at night. Because he couldn't afford to hire more people because of lack of funds, he had to work with his own hands and was exhausted every day. When the villagers in the village learned that he had built a breeding factory, they all came to help, and Shi Jinglei was grateful for the familiar and honest smiling faces.

Shi Jinglei, 36 years old, was born and raised in a peasant family. He loved sports since childhood. Later, he was admitted to Baoding Sports School. After graduation, he originally planned to be a PE teacher in the village, but after their students graduated, the county did not include any more assignments. He had to go back to the village to become a farmer. He has worked in other places and has been in business, so he can barely make ends meet.

His Youcheng aquaculture was completed during the Spring Festival in 2016, with a high-standard breeding enclosure of more than 12000 square meters and a forage storage pond, with a total investment of more than 1 million yuan. In February this year, Shi Jinglei's Youcheng farm began to liven up, and the first batch of 50 donkeys and 10 beef cattle he bought began to fatten up. Three villagers were recruited from the village as breeders, and in order to save money, he dragged his old father to the farm to feed the donkeys.

After several twists and turns, he borrowed another NT $200000 to buy feed from other places, and the farm began to operate. Although Shi Jinglei grew up in the countryside, but the breeding of meat donkeys is different from the traditional breeding, we should follow the concept of scientific breeding. He conscientiously studied the feeding methods and management techniques of meat donkeys, and consulted on questions that he did not understand. In the continuous study and experiment, he learned some basic feed ratio, feeding methods, livestock epidemic prevention and operation management and so on. Up to now, Shi Jinglei's Youcheng meat donkey farming scale has reached more than 100, and beef cattle has reached more than 50. After May Day, he will formally register a professional cooperative for farmers raising donkeys to expand the scale of breeding.

Shi Jinglei's entrepreneurship has also enabled more people to participate, with the strong support of the county and township governments and many departments. The township party committee, township government, and accurate poverty alleviation working group in the village have come to the farm for guidance many times and actively help solve all kinds of difficulties. The leaders of the county poverty alleviation office and other departments also went to the farm to guide the work, put forward a lot of good suggestions, and gave him a lot of encouragement.

The breeding and entrepreneurial story of young farmer Shi Jinglei has been recognized by the villagers. When talking about the feeling of returning to his hometown to start a business and raise meat donkeys, Shi Jinglei said with emotion: setting up a breeding plant has low investment risk, high profit return, can make full use of local rich forage resources, broad prospects for breeding market, and great potential for development!
