If you don't like pumpkin, native chicken, loquat tree, you will be rich if you understand it.
In Heixi Town, Qianjiang District, villager Zhou Qing raises native chickens in the loquat forest.
In late spring and early summer, Qianjiang Heixi Town Reform Village, where the loquat garden can pick loquat, fresh native chicken has become a delicacy that tourists scramble to taste. This is precisely the ecological loquat garden introduced by the town in recent years. The loquat garden provides space for native chicken activities. Local chicken catching insects in the garden promotes the growth of loquat and achieves the unity of the ecological cycle. The "under-forest economy" model has also benefited 42-year-old villager Zhou Qing, who earned more than 200,000 yuan last year.
It is difficult to grow loquat and melon land.
Yesterday, the reporter came to Group 2 of Reform Village, Heixi Town, Qianjiang District. The Fengfei Baisha loquat plantation run by Zhou Qing occupied more than half of the mountain, and the loquat on the tree had grown green fruit. Thousands of black chickens ran wantonly in the forest, and three or five henhouses were scattered in the forest, and from time to time there were many "green shell eggs" laid by black chickens.
Two years ago, in addition to loquat, pumpkins were interplanted in the garden. "the distance between each loquat tree is 1.5 meters. After planting loquat, there is a lot of land idle. Interplanting is a commonly used way to increase the yield per mu of land." Zhou Qing said that in 2011, he planted loquat on 200 mu of land in the reform village, and in order to increase the utilization rate of the land, he began to interplant other crops in the forest gap.
Just planted the first year, found the problem, "Pumpkin, loquat trees will absorb nutrients from the soil, too many weeds, both can not grow well." Zhou Qing said that not only that, pumpkins and loquat trees will breed some insect pests, the two influence each other, but also bad planting, the land is also difficult to nourish.
How to make the loquat trees grow well, the land utilization rate is high, and the land nutrition can be restored, which makes Zhou Qing really difficult.
Loquat land with native chicken increases by 100%
The turnaround came in early 2012, when the Heixi town government began to promote the "under-forest economy" to the village. The so-called "under-forest economy" means to make full use of forest land resources and forest shade advantages to engage in three-dimensional compound production and management, such as planting and breeding under the forest, relying on woodland resources and forest ecological environment. So that agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry can achieve resource sharing, complementary advantages, cycle and coordinated development of the ecological agriculture model.
This new idea instantly solved Zhou Qing's problem.
"Yes, we should raise chickens, the natural enemies of grass and insects." Zhou Qingpan calculated that chickens eating insects can prevent insects and protect the forest, and feces can fatten the woodland. The good natural ecological environment under the forest is also conducive to the growth of chickens, which not only reduces the cost and epidemic disease, but also greatly increases the taste of native chickens.
It is not too late. From 2012, Zhou Qing specially introduced 4000 improved black-skinned chickens from Hubei and other places and began to breed them in the loquat forest. "usually chickens will look for worms in the forest, and they will also eat some weeds, which will be supplemented by corn and soybean meal to ensure the quality of native chickens. There is no need to worry about it at all." Zhou Qing said that the natural weeds growing in loquat orchards and raising native chickens, dry ducks and other poultry are "natural oxygen bars" for poultry. They are ventilated and cooled, and are not easy to get sick, which is very conducive to the growth of poultry. Poultry eat grass and insects, manure forest land, and forest trees to form a virtuous biological cycle chain, the market of poultry products produced by woodland is good, the price is high, it belongs to green pollution-free poultry products.
Starting in 2014, after three years of seedling raising, loquat began to bear fruit, and the chicks were just growing up.
"an average of 50 loquat trees are planted in one mu of land, and the average yield of loquat is 250jin per mu, which is 5000 yuan according to 20 yuan per jin. An acre of loquat orchard can raise an average of 25 native chickens, each of which is about 100 yuan, which is 2500 yuan. Plus 3 yuan for a 'green shell egg', there is at least 3000 yuan a year. If the two add up, the income will be more than 10000 yuan. " Zhou Qing said that it is equivalent to doubling the value of each mu of land.
Picking tour is popular and earns 200000 a year.
In May last year, the Baisha loquat planted by Zhou Qing was ripe, the meat was delicate, and the sweet and delicious loquat attracted the attention of the surrounding citizens, who drove to the loquat orchard to pick loquat.
"20,000 jin of loquat is not enough to be picked, and there is no need to sell it at all." Zhou Qing said that the good quality of loquat attracted a large number of tourists to pick, and the price of 20 yuan per catty did not worry about marketability. coupled with the existence of rural native chickens, citizens who caught and bought chickens themselves made picking more fun and more and more involved.
Last year, Zhou Qing made a profit of 200000 yuan by relying on loquat and native chicken. This year, Zhou Qing transferred nearly 800 mu of land to plant loquat, and led the surrounding poor families to open up the economic model of loquat and native chicken under the forest, leading them to get rich.
Liao Yuxian, a 48-year-old poor family, on the one hand worked in Zhou Qing's loquat garden to learn the experience of growing loquat, on the other hand, she also planted 10 mu of loquat at home, raised more than 300 chickens, and began to join Zhou Qing's loquat planting cooperative. It is estimated that in three years' time, the benefits of loquat and native chicken will bring her 50,000 yuan a year.
The economy under the forest can increase the income of green people.
Li Song, chairman of the Heixi Town people's Congress, told reporters that the economy under the forest has the advantages of less investment, quick results, easy operation, and great potential. "the development of the economy under the forest can increase the greening of the land, increase the income of farmers, and benefit from many aspects. Li Song said that at present, the park has also led 51 farmers around to plant loquats and raise native chickens, including seven poor households, all of which have been planted in place this winter. By the end of this year, it is expected to achieve a planting scale of 1000 mu, and the number of native chickens and dry ducks will reach more than 8000. At that time, the picking tour can achieve the sales of loquat and native chickens without leaving the house, and the profit can reach 300000 yuan.
