Preliminary statistics on the disaster situation in Hunan show that as of the 18th, the current round of severe convective disaster weather has affected 734000 people and killed 6 people in the province. Ultra-warning floods occurred in the upper and middle reaches of the Ganjiang River, and the water level at the main stations is still rising.

The Hunan Provincial Hydrology Bureau issued a yellow flood warning on the same day that floods will occur soon in the middle and upper reaches of the Xiangjiang River. Preliminary statistics on the local disaster show that as of the 18th, 734000 people have been affected and 6 people have been killed in Hunan Province. 1336 houses have collapsed due to strong winds and hail, and some people have died after some buildings collapsed. Before and after the disaster, cadres and people in the affected areas carried out flood fighting and disaster relief, and 11000 people were urgently relocated and resettled. At present, 7400 people are still in need of emergency living assistance.

Hail, the size of eggs, whizzed down from high altitude, piercing the roofs of private houses and destroying young crops, aggravating the disaster in Hunan Province after the flood.

The reporter learned from the Hunan Flood Control and drought Relief headquarters on the 18th that heavy precipitation caused severe convective weather such as hail and strong winds in Yongzhou, Huaihua, Chenzhou and other places in Hunan Province.

Hail in some areas lasted about 10 minutes, flue-cured tobacco, vegetables, fruits and other crops were seriously damaged, some tile roofs were pierced.

At present, the rain continues in Hunan Province. The Hunan Provincial Hydrology Bureau issued a yellow flood warning, pointing out that there will be floods exceeding the warning water level in the Laobutu reach and Guiyang reach of the middle and upper reaches of the Xiangjiang River.

From the afternoon of the 17th, southern Jiangxi suffered heavy rainfall, accompanied by strong convective weather such as strong winds, hail, thunderstorms and so on. Under the influence of heavy rainfall, super-warning floods occurred in the upper and middle reaches of the Ganjiang River. at present, the water level of major stations continues to rise, and the Jiangxi Provincial Hydrology Bureau issued a blue flood warning on the 18th.

According to the monitoring of Jiangxi Provincial Hydrology Bureau, the average rainfall in Ganzhou City on the 17th was 64 mm, of which the largest rainfall was 139 mm at Lintang Station in Longnan County, followed by 118 mm at Shangcun Station in Anyuan County.

At 12:45 on the 17th, hail fell suddenly in Zhanggong District, Nankang District, Ruijin City, Ganxian County, Shangyou, Xinfeng and other places. The hail was as big as an egg. The whole process lasted about 2 minutes.

In Anyuan County, which was hit by torrential rains, the water level of rivers rose sharply, the city was severely flooded, roads were flooded and houses flooded. Starting from 21:00 on the 17th, the public security and fire brigade of Anyuan County received reports one after another, and a large number of residents were besieged by floods waiting for rescue.

In the second district of forestry district in Anyuan County, due to the rising water level of the river opposite the district, the flood that rushed into the residents' homes has been below the knee. Fire officers and soldiers evacuated from house to house, moving 21 trapped people to safe areas.
