Twenty-five years ago, Muershan was a barren mountain with no access to the "water circuit". It was an uninhabited backwater with a radius of ten kilometers.

In 1990, Zhou Jiran resolutely decided to lead more than 300 migrant workers to open up remote areas. after years of hard struggle, he transformed 6000 mu of barren mountains into fertile soil, built tea gardens and forest orchards, and Mu'er Mountain became a now famous tourist attraction and was selected as the "30 most beautiful tea gardens in China in 2015."

Who will be responsible for the picking management of the tea garden? This is a problem that must be solved. Zhou Jiran focused his eyes on the extremely poor people, but in a desolate and uninhabited land, who would enter the mountains as "ghosts"?

In the face of doubt and ridicule, Zhou Jiran was not discouraged. Since 1996, he has spent several years running around looking for his "most beautiful" tea farmers, Baiquan River, Gangjiawan Village, and Nanmu Village. His footprints were left everywhere.

Visiting these extremely poor households, Zhou Jiran tasted all the sufferings of the world. On one occasion, because he had walked more than 50 kilometers of mountain road in a row, he was so hungry that he was so exhausted that he fainted on the path in the wild mountain forest after years of overwork. Finally, he was sent to the hospital when he was found by passing villagers.

However, in just a few years, Zhou Jiran emigrated 67 special poverty-stricken families and a total of 338 people to Mu'er Mountain, making them the real owners of Chashan.

Tea farmers get rid of poverty and go to a well-off tea shop to get rich.

"in the past, I mainly relied on odd jobs for a living, and there were still elderly people and children to take care of at home, so life was very difficult. Later, he came to me and told me about the immigration policy of Mu'er Mountain, and gave us 20 to 30 mu of tea garden. If it hadn't been for him, he wouldn't have dared to think about his life now. " Liu Baizhi, who could only make ends meet at that time, now lives in a three-story small foreign-style building and has become the secretary of a professional cooperative in Muershan. In a few years, immigrants like Liu Baizhi have all been able to shake off poverty and become rich.

Today, the villagers in Muershan earn more than 20,000 yuan a year on tea picking alone, lifting every family out of poverty and making every household rich. Muershan has changed the fate of a generation of immigrants, the story of this generation of immigrants to shake off poverty and become rich has inspired more people to join the tea industry, and the development of Zouma tea industry has also led thousands of families to shake off poverty and become rich.

Find a new way of industrial poverty alleviation and development

Over the past 25 years, Zhou Jiran has successfully embarked on a new way of industry and relocation of poverty alleviation and development, led more than 300 rural poor people out of poverty, and laid a certain foundation for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way.

Zhou Jiran went to the village to make a survey in accordance with the requirements of "adapting measures to village conditions, one household, one policy, and one person, one law" to find out the current industrial situation of poor households and the causes of poverty. We will explore and formulate a "1-6" model to participate in poverty alleviation, give priority to industrial poverty alleviation, and promote the local economy through the three major industries of planting, aquaculture and tourism.
