"Goo-goo." With the clear call of the owner, the native chicken who had slept soundly all night pounced on him from the enclosure and kept barking before feeding the bucket, scrambling for highland barley. This is a scene seen by the reporter in the backyard of Zhang Longtao, a resident of Rangke Town, Rangtang County, on April 23.

With a small area of arable land and poor climatic conditions, Zhang Longtao's family has been making ends meet by planting highland barley and potato. "the yield of crops is relatively low, and the grain grown is basically enough for people and livestock in the family to eat, and there is no extra money to sell, so life has always been very poor."

It was by accident that we embarked on the road to becoming rich. Once I saw the report of raising native chickens getting rich on TV, and from then on, he planted a "dream of raising chickens" in Zhang Longtao's heart. The ecological conditions on the plateau are good, and the quality of native chickens raised is also high. Why not take advantage of these advantages to develop native chicken farming? So he and his family began to transform the enclosure and buy chickens. Zhang Longtao set foot on the road of raising native chickens.

Everything was difficult at the beginning, and Zhang Longtao, who had just started raising native chickens, encountered difficulties. The chicken is difficult to adapt to the environment, often sick, feed shortage and a series of unexpected problems in front of him. In order to better understand the living habits of native chickens, Zhang Longtao studied farming techniques everywhere.

After consulting animal husbandry experts many times and studying in the homes of surrounding farmers, Zhang Longtao accumulated a set of native chicken "farming classics" suitable for the loam pond plateau. Now, under his meticulous preparation, his dream of raising chickens on the plateau has finally become a reality within reach. With four chicken sheds and more than 300 ecological chickens, the backyard where sundries were stored in the past has become Zhang Longtao's "industrial base."

"our laying hens are not fed with any industrial feed, but are kept in an ecological way, and the unit price of eggs produced is about twice that of ordinary eggs." Speaking of native chickens raised by his own family, Zhang Longtao's face blossomed with joy. "I never dreamed that we could still raise native chickens on the plateau, catch up with the state's series of good policies to benefit farmers, and set up cooperatives to vigorously support us. Thank you so much!"

Rangke Town has a small area of arable land, but it is close to the "big market" of the county seat, and the "Jiwang laying Hens Professional breeding Cooperative" set up in accordance with local conditions is ready to produce green ecological eggs with the "singles champion" of the egg industry.

"at present, our cooperative has 20 people and has raised more than 200,000 yuan, and we must firmly twist it into a rope in order to become bigger and stronger and develop together." Zhang Longtao told reporters that under the meticulous guidance of county animal husbandry experts, chicken seedlings introduced by cooperatives are growing very well and are expected to lay eggs and sell them in three months' time.

News links: in recent years, Rangke Town has actively encouraged and guided the establishment of professional cooperative economic organizations in accordance with the ideas of "adapting measures to local conditions, diversified establishment, government guidance, departmental guidance, and market operation" in order to increase residents' income. Up to now, there are three farmers' professional cooperatives in the town, namely, sunshine vegetable cooperatives, laying hens breeding cooperatives and Aba Zhong bee breeding cooperatives, which have set up Hongjing Transportation Co., Ltd. (circulation of agricultural products), with a total of more than 50 members. it is estimated that the per capita annual income will increase by more than 40,000 yuan.
