Turn 300 mu of barren slope into an orchard

-- A brief account of college student Liu Xing returning to his hometown to start a business

Cherry ripe in April, loquat hanging in June, peach picking in August, eating native chicken, tasting wild vegetables, visiting orchards, picking fruit, saving enough all the year round. According to the idea of Liu Xing, a college student who returned to his hometown to start a business, in another two or three years, the 300-acre barren hillside in the village will become an orchard fragrant all the year round, and he will be able to enjoy the joy of a bumper harvest and become rich with the villagers.

In mid-April, drizzling rain drove out of Pingba City and along the winding mountain road, the reporter came to Dazhai Village of Anping Office in Pingba District to learn about the hardship and happiness of Liu Xing, a college student in the village, who returned home to start a business and led the villagers to open up wasteland and plant trees.

On both sides of the road to the village, new buds are growing on more than 100 mu of hillsides, and a mountain path leads directly to the top of the mountain. Halfway up the hill, Liu Xing and the villagers are pruning and pruning the newly budded fruit tree seedlings. Seeing the reporter, Liu Xing laid down his work and chatted with the reporter about daily life.

"in the past, these hands were used to operate computers, but now they are not used to holding scissors and waving hoes." With that, Liu Xing spread out his hands, and the scar left by the worn palms was still faintly visible. He is a graduate majoring in computer science at Guizhou University. after graduation, he makes use of his specialty. Liu Xing runs a computer store alone, and his annual income is more than 100,000 yuan. Talking about why he chose to return to his hometown to open up wasteland and plant trees, Liu Xing told reporters that in early 2015, by chance, he came into contact with the kiwifruit planting industry and learned about the huge profits and market prospects of the kiwifruit planting industry. Thinking that although his hometown is rich in land resources, suffering from the lack of good industrial support, the villagers have been living in poverty. Liu Xing sprouted the idea of developing kiwifruit industry in his hometown.

"at that time, the barren mountains of several hundred mu in the village were not developed, and it coincided with the preferential policy of returning to their hometown to start a business in Pingba District. I contacted three young party members in the village who were doing business outside and had ideas. In May of that year, I contracted out 300 mu of barren mountains in the village to plant fruit trees and develop rural tourism." Liu Xing said that at that time, the family was somewhat puzzled and thought that they had done a good business outside, so why should they come back to eat the hardship of opening up wasteland. It is obviously a "golden Phoenix" flying out of a mountain nest, why do you come back to make a living facing the loess?

Liu Xing understands that the road to opening up wasteland is often arduous. For decades, no one has taken care of the barren mountains, and the road is full of thorns. Usually, even the cattle can not be seen when they go in. It is not easy to reclaim hundreds of mu of barren mountains.

"due to the lack of start-up funds, most of the money has to be used to pay for land transfer and later planting of saplings, so in order to save costs, we bought a lawn mower and opened up wasteland on the slope from morning to night. In order to save time, we even set up a makeshift tent on the slope, and the four of us worked solidly on the slope and finally cleaned up the weeds and shrubs on the slope. " Liu Xing told reporters that from the transfer of land in May last year to the end of land reclamation in August, four people stayed on the mountain for three months. The hard work of farming and hard work made everyone very tired, but finally took the first step of opening up wasteland and starting a business.

"during the day, we work in the mountains, and at night, we hold a party meeting in the tent to talk about the future development of the orchard." Liu Xing said that among the other three people, some do decoration, some engage in construction, and some do wholesale vegetables, and their family conditions are all good. In order to bring income to the villagers, four people have clenched their teeth and riveted their feet. Be sure to do something.

When the barren mountain was ready, Liu Xing and other four people were not allowed to take a breath, so it was time for kiwifruit planting.

"August is the best time to plant saplings. If we miss the season, we have to wait for another year, so we have to quickly contact the digging machine to turn over the whole hillside, dig holes, and fill it with cow dung. After more than half a year's work, we finally planted nearly 200 mu of kiwifruit seedlings." Liu Xing said.

"kiwifruit hangs for three years and enters high-yield areas in the fourth year. In the next step, we plan to plant cherries and other high-quality fruit trees, develop under-forest chicken farming, and increase investment in infrastructure to pave the way for the follow-up development of orchards." Liu Xing said.

"as long as it is successful, other villagers will follow suit to plant fruit trees. At that time, our village will be an out-of-the-world peach with fruit picking in the four seasons. On weekends and holidays, the peasant family in the village can slowly open up." Liu Xing is full of expectations for the future development of Dazhai Village.
