In Luoba Town, Shixing, mulberry trees are planted in front and behind the house.

"collect the cocoons!" In the morning the day before yesterday, various cocoon stations in Shixing County began their first acquisition this year. Sericulturists happily sent their home cocoons to the cocoon station and sold them to the site at the market price of 1780 yuan per load.

Liu Mingquan is a sericulture farmer in Lintou New Village, Luoba Town, Shixing. The day before yesterday, he sold the first batch of cocoons this year to the cocoon station, earning a profit of more than 1400 yuan. He told reporters that sericulture starts in March every year, and each batch buys 0.8 silkworm eggs. After careful cultivation, it can be raised to about 40 kilograms. In Liu Mingquan's home, the reporter saw silkworms of different ages raised in different rooms. "this is the second batch of silkworms, as well as the third and fourth batch of silkworms." While observing the silkworms, Liu Mingquan introduced to the reporter that after the first batch was sold, the next batch could be sold every five days. About five or six batches can be sold in a month, all year round.

About 32 batches can be sold. "I sold it for about fifty or sixty thousand yuan last year." When it comes to last year's earnings, Liu Mingquan is delighted.

Lu Yansi, publicity committee member of Luoba Town, said that in recent years, Luoba Town has used the scientific concept of development to plan the development of modern agriculture, meticulously created a characteristic economy of "one town, one product", and regarded sericulture industry as the leading agricultural industry, thus forming a new development model of "company + base + organization + peasant household" and "one-stop" production, supply and marketing.

The reporter learned that last year, the county collected 16465 piculs of cocoons, seven village committees sold more than 500 piculs of cocoons, and 12 contracted households earned more than 50 piculs of cocoons, making good achievements for the development of sericulture industry in the county. This year, the county plans to plant 3987 mu of mulberry gardens and acquire 15480 piculs of fresh cocoons.
