Guan Haiyan was once a poor family in the village. before planting camellia, he worked in a battery factory outside the country. he not only worked hard, but also was away from home all the year round and could not take care of his family. Guan Haiyan happily told reporters that after she returned to the village, she planted 2 mu of camellia, with an income of more than 30,000 yuan a year. Now that the child has gone to college, life is becoming more and more interesting.

The reporter learned that Baitang Town is the town with the largest planting area of camellia in our city, and it was awarded the title of "Top Ten Tea villages in Guangdong" last year. According to statistics, the planting area of camellia in Baitang town is 19000 mu, of which Luotang village has 2000 mu, accounting for 10% of the camellia planting area of the whole town. Today, the annual output value of the 2000 mu tea garden in the village is as high as 30 million yuan, and the annual per capita income of growing tea is more than 10,000 yuan. The annual per capita net income of 31 poor households in the village increased from 2650 yuan before assistance to 10085 yuan at the end of last year, achieving the goal of getting rid of poverty.

Cooperatives provide one-stop service for production and marketing

The main varieties of camellia in Luotang Village are lobular camellia and lobular purple bud tea. Gong Xinqiang, secretary of the village party branch and director of the village committee, told reporters that at present, there are three cooperatives in the village, through the "cooperative (enterprise) + base + peasant household (collective) + standard" management model, to provide villagers with "one-stop service" for producing, making and selling tea.

Zhang Jinshui, president of Baitang Chunxiang Camellia Professional Cooperative, told reporters that after the cooperative was established, 200 farmers were driven to grow camellia. "through unified guidance and unified purchase, the quality of camellia has been continuously improved, and the market price has also risen."

"We will continue to help Luotang Village expand the tea industry and help the villagers get rich." Mei Min, a cadre of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Municipal CPC Committee in the village, said that during the period of assistance, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Municipal CPC Committee and Huizhou Automobile Transportation Group helped Luotang Village improve the construction plan of professional cooperatives, the development plan of leading industries, and the management system for the use of poverty alleviation funds, to guide farmers to make use of their own advantages to participate in the construction of agricultural industrialization, and to create a sustainable industrial pattern of "one village, one industry, one village, one product."
