Guizhou Ziyun: grape "string up" to become rich
The picture shows Wei Zhihua, a big grower, pruning branches in the vineyard.
On May 9, Wei Zhihua, a big grape grower in Dabang Township, Ziyun Autonomous County, got up and washed and went to the grape base after breakfast. The first grapes planted in the vineyard were already full of fruit. Wei Zhihua held up a bunch of grape branches full of fruit and counted the young fruits, thinking that this year might be a bumper grape harvest season.
Wei Zhihua, 37, a native of Dezhao Village, Zongdi Township, Ziyun Autonomous County, quit his stable job in 2013 to develop the grape industry in Dabang Township and has grown his vineyard to 1100 mu. Although the development of the grape industry was initially plagued by capital, technology and many other factors, he hoped to use his wisdom and labor to gain benefits at the same time to achieve the dream of driving one side of the people out of poverty and become rich.
"although there is a lot of investment in the grape industry, it has achieved quick results." Wei Zhihua said that 40 grape seedlings can be planted per mu, and 50 cement poles and 500jin steel wires are needed to build grape racks, which cost nearly 7000 yuan. However, the climate, soil and other environment of Dabang Township are suitable for the growth of grapes. The grapes planted hang fruit for 2 years and enter the high-yield period for 3 years.
In 2013, after an on-the-spot investigation, Wei Zhihua thought that Dabang grape had a development prospect, so he planted 45 mu of grapes in Nazuo village through land transfer. In 2014, Wei Zhihua saw that the grapes planted in the first year grew well and planted more than 200 mu. By 2015, the grapes planted in the first year had failed, and Wei Zhihua, who had strengthened his self-confidence, had planted more than 370 mu of grapes. in three years, he had planted more than 1,000 mu of grapes and invested more than 6.3 million yuan through bank loans and self-financing.
"go to the countryside from the countryside and do what you like to do." Wei Zhihua said that at the beginning of his decision to grow grapes on a large scale, he was once opposed by his family and friends because of the large investment and high risk. Until 2015, when he took his family and friends to his grape base, he saw that the grapes planted were growing gratifying, and after the first batch of grapes had entered the high-yield period, instead of opposing him to grow grapes, he supported him to grow grapes.
While developing the grape industry, Wei Zhihua has also brought benefits to the local villagers. The land where he grows grapes is mostly wild sloping farmland. The villagers not only receive land transfer fees, but also work in the grape base to increase their income. "the land where grapes are grown is transferred in three ways." Wei Zhihua said: one is that they (the big growers) transfer the land directly from the villagers who contract the land; second, the township government transfers the land from the villagers in accordance with the industrial development plan and then gives it to them. The third is to get the land in the form of farmers' shareholding, that is, "companies + farmers + bases + cooperatives (or large growers)". In this way, farmers can get dividends after results, and they can also work in the base to increase their income. let farmers get more benefits.
In order to ensure the scale and healthy development of the grape industry, Wei Zhihua also took the lead in setting up three professional teams: first, professional three strict prevention teams, that is, disease prevention, disaster prevention, and drought prevention; second, base construction team, that is, encouraging and supporting villagers to develop grape industry; third, professional labor team, that is, planting, sprouting, fertilization, and so on.
Driven by large growers such as Wei Zhihua, the purple grape in Dabang Township has grown to nearly 50,000 mu in just a few years, and has become a provincial efficient agricultural demonstration garden. With Ziyun's grape industry in full swing, in order to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the grape industry, Ziyun established the Grape Industry Chamber of Commerce, and Wei Zhihua was elected as the first president.
With the grape industry gradually entering the high-yield period, due to the relatively low profit of fresh fruit and the limitation of production, in order to form a "one after another" industrial chain of grapes, Wei Zhihua and his partners set up a deep processing workshop to produce red wine.
"due to the good quality of grapes and the delicious taste of the processed red wine, the 30,000 jin of wine processed last year has long been sold out." Wei Zhihua said that this year, they are going to process 100000 jin of wine and want to gradually expand production. Next, he will build a winery in the grape base, so that the grape industry to form a grape fresh fruit, deep processing, winery and other diversified industrial chain.
