Yang Xiaowei's hometown is in Qingshankou Township, Nong'an County, Changchun City, Jilin Province, where black land breeds domestic high-quality chili varieties, but the chili peppers from her hometown were sold as far away as Heilongjiang before she returned from Singapore to start a business. Since she founded the melon and vegetable planting cooperative on her doorstep in 2007, she has led her fellow villagers to develop order agriculture. now, chili peppers from her hometown are not only exported to 35 cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, but also enter the South Korean market with an average annual export volume of 100 tons for six consecutive years.

Over the past nine years, driven by Yang Xiaowei, 280 farmers in seven surrounding towns have begun to get rich on chili peppers, watermelons and other agricultural products, quadrupling their annual income from growing corn in the past. Today, the 37-year-old is known locally as "Sister Pepper".

"two chili peppers cost 8 yuan in Singapore and only 50 cents in my hometown. This contrast made me gradually come up with the idea of going back to China to start a business." Yang Xiaowei said. Hitchhiking on the booming development of logistics, e-commerce and other industries, relying on the promotion in all kinds of exhibitions, she gradually accumulated customers all over the country. In the next stage, she does not plan to expand the planting area of chili peppers for the time being, but processes about 30% of the unqualified chili peppers in the average annual output into chili sauce, further seizing the consumer market of agricultural and sideline products at home and abroad.
