Zhang Min is making wine.

At six o'clock every morning, Zhang Min, five groups of villagers from Yangmei Village, Yangmei Township, Shuicheng County, will get up on time, light the fire, put on the tank, and scoop water. Ready to start wine-making, after the selection of materials, cooking, saccharification, fermentation, sterilization, distillation and other processes, the mellow Baogu wine slowly flowed out of the cylinder.

The Baogu wine brewed by the local native method takes the local rich Baogu (corn) as the main raw material and selects sweet mountain spring water as the main raw material. the wine brewed has a high alcohol content, drinks into the mouth and swallows, and has a kind of burning feeling. It is an indispensable etiquette for farmers to treat guests.

On May 13, the reporter saw in Zhang Min's brewing workshop that her brewing workshop did not have any mechanical equipment, and all the brewing procedures were manual. When I met Zhang Min for the first time, she was a little shy and not talkative. But when it comes to making wine, she is very proud: "my parents' family also makes wine. I learned to make wine when I was a teenager."

Zhang Min told the reporter that according to the characteristics of wine-making technology, it is usually steaming grain in one day and producing wine in one day, and all the work is done by her and his wife. Indigenous wine-making is physical work, and it is also very hard, especially in summer. The Baogu just steamed out is steaming, the temperature is extremely high, and the whole workshop is very stuffy.

In 2006, the business-minded girl raised 20,000 yuan and bought 30 piglets to start raising. Every day, piglet feed consumes a large amount of grain such as cereals and yams in her family, which makes the poor families a little stretched. She thought that she had the technology of making wine, so why not use the distiller's grains produced by brewing, which could not only solve the feed problem, but also have another income. Just do it. That year, she set up a simple brewing workshop, which she has been doing for 10 years.

"my wine is never adulterated, it tastes mellow, and all acquaintances come to buy wine, so I don't worry about the market." While making wine, Zhang Min said, "it takes 2400 jin of grain a year to produce 1000 jin of wine, with an average price of about 4 yuan per jin."

Next to the brewing workshop, there is a "seven-shaped" simple pig pen made of cement brick, in which 20 sows sleep quietly. "20 sows have laid 130 piglets this year, more than 70 have been sold, and now there are more than 50 in the pen." Zhang Min said, "Last year, the big pig market was good, so we raised big pigs. This year, if the piglet market is good, we will raise piglets and look at the market to raise pigs."

Lei Minglin, deputy head of Yangmei Township, who accompanied the reporter to interview, said that Zhang Min is a "capable woman" who can not only make wine, but also give pigs injections.

Zhang Min said shyly that in the past, in the countryside, it was difficult for veterinarians to find veterinarians when pigs were sick. When they found veterinarians to treat pigs, the illness became serious, and they had to pay a large amount of medical expenses. In order to reduce expenses, they went to the bookstore to buy some books on pig epidemic prevention and taught themselves to see pigs.

"in the past few years, Zhang Min has never asked anyone to see a pig. She always gives the pig an injection by herself." Lei Minglin said. Relevant officials in the township and village have always been very concerned about Zhang Min's start-up, and have repeatedly mobilized her to expand the scale of farming. In 2014, the village also helped her apply for a two-year government discount loan to support her in expanding the scale of farming.

Raising pigs and making wine put Zhang Min and his family on the road to getting rich. Last year, her family made more than 100,000 yuan from selling pigs and more than 100,000 yuan from brewing. This year, Zhang Min's family has had another bumper harvest in brewing wine and raising pigs.
