He is Jiang Donghai, a 29-year-old from Hechuan.

Not long ago, the general manager of Yunnan Xishuangbanna Dongting Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., the famous local "banana king", was interviewed by reporters in the banana forest.

The hard time of working in Foshan

Overtime is a common occurrence, especially in the peak sales season, where he often works more than 15 hours a day.

After driving from the center of Jinghong City, the capital of Xishuangbanna Autonomous Prefecture, about 5 kilometers along the city road, we got on the highway to Puzhihei. Urban buildings gradually disappeared from sight, and patches of farmland came into view.

Jiang Donghai was born in rural Hechuan. "the world is so big that I want to see it." After finishing high school in the local area in 2006, with this idea and only 500 yuan in cash, he went to Foshan, Guangdong alone, and began a dream-chasing journey.

In a small electrical appliance factory in Foshan, he found a job in product quality control with a monthly salary of less than 1000 yuan. However, because he was steadfast and willing to work, he was promoted to head of the department a year later, and his monthly salary rose to 3000 yuan.

It's not easy to work. "it is common to work overtime." Jiang Donghai told reporters that especially in the peak sales season, working hours are often more than 15 hours a day.

With the passage of time, the idea of "starting your own business" became stronger and stronger in his heart. At the end of 2007, Jiang Donghai resigned and returned to Chongqing.

Go to Yunnan to plant bananas

Over the past few weeks, he was peeled by the sun and repeatedly sighed: it's not easy to be a banana orchard owner.

In early 2008, Jiang Donghai and his family came to Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province to develop banana planting on a large scale. "the climate, topography and soil quality of Xishuangbanna are more suitable for banana growth." He introduced.

It all starts from scratch.

Because he knew nothing about banana planting, management and protection technology, when he first arrived in Xishuangbanna, Jiang Donghai did "chores" in his banana garden: weeding, planting seedlings, irrigation, fertilization, and inspecting the orchard, doing everything, leaving early and returning late every day.

Over the past few weeks, he was peeled in the sun and repeatedly exclaimed, "it's not easy to be a banana orchard owner."

There is always a reward for what you give. A year later, the banana garden with an area of more than 200 mu has taken shape. Jiang Donghai is very pleased.

Before long, he "took over" the entire banana garden and began to be fully responsible for operation and management, product sales and other affairs.

Jiang Donghai attaches importance to the use of the latest planting technology, but also particularly able to bear hardships, almost every day to drill into the banana forest inspection. It will take at least half a day to inspect the 200 mu banana garden.

He said, "Banana strands are best cut off when medium well is cut down. If they are cut early, the color is not good, and their appearance is not good. If they are cut late, if they are too mature, they are not conducive to transportation and storage."

The products are sold to the hometown market. After a trip, he established close contact with many merchants in Panxi Fruit Wholesale Market, opened the market, and walked out of the predicament. "to develop banana planting on a large scale, we must also pay close attention to the market." Jiang Donghai said.

In early 2010, Guangxi, Hainan and other major banana producing areas ushered in a bumper harvest, so that Yunnan bananas, which did not worry about sales in the past, suddenly fell into the dilemma of "no one cares". Jiang Donghai was caught off guard and faced huge losses.

With a big head, he called a friend in Chongqing to complain. Unexpectedly, it was this phone call that solved the urgent need.

"you can ship the bananas to Panxi Fruit Wholesale Market to sell them!" A friend reminds me.

Jiang Donghai woke up like a dream and immediately rented a truck and transported more than 20 tons of bananas to Panxi market overnight. In less than two days, the bananas sold out.

After this trip, Jiang Donghai also established close contact with many banana wholesalers in Panxi, opened up sales, and got out of the predicament.

"the fruit wholesale market in my hometown Chongqing is very popular, and since then, a considerable proportion of my products have to be shipped here every year." He said.

Young Jiang Donghai also has a strong interest in e-commerce platforms. He said time and again that he should make good use of the Internet as a new sales channel to be a "banana e-commerce" in the new era.

In fact, he has begun to try this, such as installing cameras and other facilities, irregularly transmitting banana growth, management and other information to customers through the network, while setting up his own official website to fully promote his banana garden.

I often drool when I think of the peach slices, meat slices, and the fresh spicy hot pot in Hechuan.

In recent years, Jiang Donghai continues to expand production, banana orchard area soon reached more than 3000 mu, the scale is one of the largest in Xishuangbanna, the products are exported to all parts of the country, annual sales income of more than 30 million yuan.

This young man is also naturally recognized as the "banana king" in the area.

In April last year, a large restaurant he invested in Hechuan City officially opened. This restaurant can receive nearly 1,000 guests at the same time, creating nearly 100 local jobs.

Jiang Donghai told reporters that when he is in a foreign land, he is often homesick and misses all kinds of delicacies in his hometown: "Hechuan peach slices, meat slices, and that fresh and spicy hot pot often drool when I think of it." Every time my family comes to Yunnan, I always ask them to bring as many Chongqing specialties as possible. "

When his parents are at home, he will be introduced to him on the phone and Wechat about the changes in his hometown.

Jiang Donghai is always unable to resist the temptation, so whenever he has time, he always likes to fly back to Chongqing and get together with relatives and friends to eat hot pot and night beer.
