On May 20, rescuers put out a forest fire in the mother tree forest area of Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica in Honghuaerji.

On the same day, a forest fire broke out in Baritu Forest Farm, Honghuarji Mongolian Pine Mother Forest District, Inner Mongolia. More than 200 people were dispatched by resident forest police officers and forestry departments to put out the fire. Due to the large wind force and uncertain wind direction on site, it is difficult to put out the fire. As of press time, the fire was still being put out.

Honghuaerji mongolian pine forest area is the largest in asia and the only concentrated continuous mongolian pine seed forest belt in china. It is the first barrier of the national "three north" shelterbelt, covering an area of 598,000 hectares.
