High-ranking vegetable farmers go to Yunnan to plant onions to find a way to get rich.
Early in the morning, when the first ray of sunlight sprinkled on the green onion field in Hongta District, Yuxi, Yunnan Province, the thin water mist condensed in the small chives gradually dispersed, the breeze blew, and the new onion seedlings emitted a delicate fragrance. In the early morning of May 20, Lan Yongping, an important person who went to plant green onions in Hongta District, ushered in the harvest of a new batch of small chives. As usual, he and the workers he invited bent down in the field and busily and skillfully pulled out mature chives. At this time, there are several pickup trucks to collect onions beside the green onion field. After these vans are filled with chives, they are transferred to large freezer trucks and then transported to vegetable markets all over the country for wholesale sale.
In Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, thousands of miles away, over the past decade, a number of vegetable farmers from high dignitaries have gone to the local area to pack land and grow onions. They have spared no pains to get up in the morning and dark every day, so that small chives have found a way to get rich in different places. Recently, the reporter interviewed some high-end vegetable farmers who went to Yunnan to grow spring onions to learn about their entrepreneurial dreams of growing vegetables in other places.
The excellent environment attracts a large number of high-end vegetable farmers to grow onions in different places.
Yuxi City, located in the middle of Yunnan Province, is high in the northwest and staggered between the basin and the plateau. Yuxi City enjoys the reputation of "granary in central Yunnan" and "hometown of cloud and smoke" because of its high grain yield and excellent quality of tobacco. Due to the unique topography and geomorphology of Yuxi, it has formed a relatively obvious three-dimensional climate, with a mild and humid climate all the year round, no severe cold in winter, no heat in summer, and an average annual temperature of 20.5 ℃, which is very suitable for the growth of vegetables.
Lan Yongping, from Yaogang Village, Jindu Town, Gaoyao, was one of the first vegetable farmers to "taste fresh" and grow spring onions in Yuxi City. He told reporters that in the past, it was very difficult for Zhaoqing to cover a lot of land to grow vegetables, and as early as the 1990s, many vegetable farmers went to Shenzhen and other places to develop large-scale vegetable cultivation, and about a decade ago, when he went to Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, as a vegetable growing technician, he found that the excellent local climate and natural conditions, coupled with the advantage of low land rent, were very suitable for the development of large-scale vegetable cultivation. And it is especially suitable for growing onions. "the suitable temperature for leaf growth of small chive is 10-25 ℃, which can adapt to high light intensity. Yuxi not only has a good climate and long light time, but also has a deep soil layer and is rich in organic matter, which is very suitable for the growth of chives. "
Since 2008, Lan Yongping has begun to develop the cultivation of small chives, the variety is Guangdong red onions, with a planting area of 55 mu. After day and night struggle, the small chives planted by Lan Yongping has finally been recognized by the market. The price of Yuxi chives has gradually risen from 40 cents per kilogram to more than 2.5 yuan per kilogram, and demand is often in short supply. last year, the local chives in Yuxi rose to 8 yuan per kilogram, and the economic benefits of planting chives are becoming more and more remarkable.
The good news of planting onions in different places soon spread among the high-end vegetable farmers. In recent years, hundreds of farmers from Yaogang, ploughing sand, waterside, Dakeng and other communities in Gaoyao Jindu Town have also gone to Yuxi City to lease land to grow chives. In 2013, Lan Yongping also set up a Huayao vegetable production and Marketing Cooperative in Yuxi City to help more villagers go to Yunnan to grow chives. It is understood that at present, the green onions planted in Yuxi, Yunnan are mainly vegetable farmers from Yaogang, ploughing sand, Dakeng and other communities in Gaoyao Jindu Town, with nearly 2000 people, a planting area of nearly 20, 000 mu, and an annual output value of more than 600 million yuan.
Spring onions invigorate the whole industrial chain
Because of the excellent climatic conditions in Yuxi, the yield of chives planted by high-important vegetable farmers is higher than that in other places. A mature chive can be divided into eight green onion seedlings to be planted, and there is no need to re-cultivate chives. A mu of land can produce up to five batches of chives a year, with an output of 2 to 3 tons. Moreover, the traditional superb vegetable growing skills of high-end vegetable farmers also give them an advantage in the quality of the onions they grow.
"the green onion leaves we grow are the thinnest and greenest, and the onions are the reddest, and they are more fragrant, so they are very popular in the market." Mai Guohua, a high-ranking person who also came to Yuxi to grow onions, told reporters that in the green onion fields they contracted, 300 to 400 tons of chives were sold to all parts of the country every day, and because of the large planting volume, he invited more than 200 local villagers to pick chives, which indirectly led to the employment and income of local villagers. "the wages of the workers are calculated according to the amount picked. At the end of the day, the average income per person is more than 100 yuan."
The large-scale planting of chives has not only solved the problem of farmers' employment in the surrounding areas, but also spawned the development of other industries. At present, Hongta District has 2 ice factories and 8 cleaning and processing plants serving the refrigerated transportation of spring onions, which has promoted the development of catering and other service industries. Small chives, quietly invigorated a local "planting, procurement, processing, logistics" industry chain.
Nowadays, the small chives planted by high-important vegetable farmers in Yuxi have become a little famous. However, like other high-end vegetable farmers who come to Yuxi to grow onions, Lan Yongping believes that although the market for chives is promising at present, there are still risks, and there is still a long way to go to make the industry of chives bigger and better. "next, with the help of the role of cooperatives, I hope to organize more onion farmers, standardize planting, and register their own trademark of small chives, through the model of company + base + farmers + technology to further expand the influence of Yuxi chives. Let more places across the country eat and fall in love with the small chives grown by our high-end vegetable farmers. "
