Zhang Zhao Village, Donghedian Town, Pingyu County, Henan Province, is a remote and poor village located in the junction of Henan and Anhui provinces. Since Zhang Zhaocun was included in the accurate poverty alleviation and poverty alleviation plan of Pingyu County at the beginning of this year, the story of Li Weifeng, a native villager, who raised deer to create wealth has only become known. When it comes to raising deer, this honest, simple and well-spoken farmer suddenly opened the chatterbox.

Li Weifeng, a 33-year-old vocational college graduate, is a knowledge-based farmer. In 2006, with the help of his family, he began to learn to do building materials business, and in 2008 he opened a large building materials store in Miaocha Town, Linquan, Anhui Province, adjacent to his hometown. In 2010, Li Weifeng inadvertently developed a strong interest in deer, a strange animal. As soon as he was free, he would search the Internet and study relevant knowledge and information: deer are covered with treasures all over their bodies, and they can be raised in their hometown. So the idea of keeping deer at home began to take root in his heart.

When Li Weifeng told his family the idea of raising deer, his wife Tian Weiping was very supportive, but she was strongly opposed by his father. The conservative father thought that his idea was so unreliable that it would be strange not to drag down the good building materials business.

The stubborn Li Weifeng recognized the road of raising deer. In 2013, with the help of the secretary of the village party branch, he partnered with friends to buy the idle cattle farm opposite the village committee and carried out a preliminary transformation, and applied for the "National key Wild Protection Animal domestication and breeding license". In the meantime, he also studied on the spot in a deer farm in Beijing for three months. At the end of that year, Li Weifeng introduced the first batch of sika deer from Beijing: 1 breed male deer, 15 female deer, and 4 productive deer. 20 deer spent a full 200000 yuan, and what is most regrettable is that due to long-distance transportation and bumps for more than 20 hours, coupled with the cold and cold weather at that time, 20 deer "settled" in their hometown in just two months, and five died one after another! As a result, the partners withdrew. Li Weifeng felt the pressure he had never felt before. To this end, he withdrew millions of yuan from the building materials store.

In 2014, the female deer successfully gave birth to 11 young deer, and the first crop of velvet antler that the deer "contributed" was bought at a high price by locals who went out to do business and returned home during the Spring Festival, which strengthened Li Weifeng's belief in raising deer to create wealth. In 2015, he invested more than 400,000 yuan to build a new feed workshop and warehouse, installed a complete set of new feed production equipment, launched a new silage processing technology, and planted sweet elephant grass and barley grass that sika deer like to eat. and officially registered the establishment of Pingyu County Wanlu Deer Industry Company. In the same year, the female deer successfully gave birth to 8 young deer, all of which survived and grew well. Moreover, 11 young deer that were bred last year have begun to produce antler. Under Li Weifeng's exploration, deer blood wine, pilose antler wine, deer fetus ointment and other products have also been developed and sold through the Internet and physical stores. People from dozens or hundreds of miles have been coming to buy the products, and the products are in short supply.

At present, Li Weifeng's company has entered a stage of steady and healthy development, and the number of deer has increased to 34. Since 2014, Li Weifeng has collected and sold more than 20 kilograms of pilose antler, soaked and sold deer blood (velvet antler) wine totaling more than 1000 kilograms, produced and sold more than 100 packets of deer ointment, and the actual income from raising deer has reached hundreds of thousands of yuan. At present, pregnant deer are about to give birth, and more than 10 new young deer are expected to be added. Li Weifeng will also introduce two high-quality male deer and more than 15 female deer from the northeast in the near future to ensure that the total number of deer will reach more than 300 within three to five years. "the company will build and expand its infrastructure, and plan to introduce technology and equipment such as artificial breeding and deep processing of products during the year, so as to make necessary preparations for gradually realizing the industrial production of large-scale deer raising and deer products in the future." Li Weifeng said happily.

It is worth mentioning that Li Weifeng is willing to do his best for the village to accurately help the poor and get rid of poverty. In order to help villagers shake off poverty and become rich, Li Weifeng decided to explore the establishment of specialized deer-raising cooperatives this year, and sorted out the basic idea and model of "companies, cooperatives and farmers", that is, taking the company as the backing and the cooperative as the platform. on the premise of zero input and zero risk, the deer and young deer are released and dispersed separately, and unified management, unified feeding, unified epidemic prevention and unified sales are carried out. And unified training plus door guidance, unified settlement plus year-end dividend and so on. (Zhang Peiqi, reporter of this newspaper)
