March Red is the earliest to go on the market, and its price is the most expensive, but its taste is the worst. It is not popular in Hong Kong, but farmers who grow March Red have made money.

Litchi is produced in Hainan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian and other provinces in China. As far as western Guangdong is concerned, Gaozhou is the most famous, but litchi was first planted in Dianbai area. Back in the 1970s, the editor had a litchi orchard in his hometown. The trunk was so thick that a child could not hold it. The diameter of the tree was about 30cm, and the tree was at least a hundred years old. At present, most fruit trees are about 10cm in diameter. Generally speaking, the old tree litchi tastes better, the meat is clear and the taste is sweeter than the new tree litchi, so the old tree litchi is more popular.

As an authentic Lingnan man who eats 300 lychees a day, the editor takes you to see the lychees in your hometown today. Guangdong Dianbai, as the first county-level city to grow litchi, is not as famous as Gaozhou litchi, one of the reasons: large-scale cultivation without government support. It is difficult to keep litchi fresh, and the best taste is to pick and taste it directly. after picking it, the fragrance changes one day, the color changes in two days, and the taste changes in three days. therefore, in the past N years, only people in Lingnan can eat 300 lychees a day, and only emperors or official families to the north of Lingnan can kiss Fangze.
