Recently, the live activity of geographical indications of agricultural products during the 2016 National intellectual property publicity week was held in Jinhaihu Town, Pinggu, on the outskirts of Beijing. At the event site, the leader of the Agricultural products quality and Safety Center of the Ministry of Agriculture awarded the geographical indication registration certificate of "Maoshan Hou Buddha to see Xi pear" to Li Zhu, president of Maoshan Hou Pear production and Marketing Association and university student village official. After years of efforts, Buddha Jian Xi Pear in Maoshan back Village has finally been affixed with a landmark coat of "Jingui" and become a "golden fruit" to help farmers get rich, all of which is inseparable from Li Zhu's efforts for many years.

Starting a business practice is concerned with hometown pears

Li Zhu, 26, was born in a small mountain village called Maoshan Hou in the depths of the mountain in Jinhaihu Town, Pinggu, on the outskirts of Beijing. The village is small, with about 70 households, but it produces a kind of pear named Buddha Jianxi, which was hand-picked by the Buddha in Cixi more than 100 years ago. This kind of pear is well-shaped, ripe and ruddy, like Maitreya Buddha with a big belly, very blessed, and a big, crispy, sweet and juicy fruit, which was a necessary fruit for the royal family at that time.

When Li Zhu was still young, he heard that this kind of pear was produced in the village a long time ago. Unfortunately, due to a long time ago, Buddha saw that Xi pear was on the verge of extinction, and he had never seen what it looked like. In 2008, technicians from the Pinggu District Fruit Office came to Maoshan Hou Village and accidentally found a 100-year-old Buddha see Pear tree in a farmyard, so they carried out salvage protection, collected high-quality scions, and grafted nearly 100 mu of fruit trees by changing the head of the old tree to build the Buddha see Xi pear base. This year, Li Zhu was admitted to the Business School of Beijing Industrial and Commercial University.

Every summer and winter vacation, he would go around the pear tree field to see what the base looked like. Two years later, the grafted Buddha saw Xi pear began to hang fruit, but due to the scattered management of ordinary people, the quality could not be guaranteed. After Li Zhu tasted it, he felt that it was far from the kind of taste he had imagined. As a result, an idea came to his mind that in order for Buddha to see Xi pear to form a brand and enter the capital market, it was necessary to improve the degree of organization of farmers. Under his suggestion, in 2012, the village set up a fruit production and marketing professional cooperative-Beijing Yuanbaoshan fruit production and marketing professional cooperative.

In a twinkling of an eye, in 2013, when four years of college life was coming to an end, Li Zhu had already figured out his own way: to go back to his hometown as a university student village official to help villagers develop the pear industry.

Father and son join hands to lead the villagers to become rich

In early July 2013, Li Zhu officially took office and became a university student village official in Xiaodonggou village. While doing a good job as a "village official", he did not forget that he sold pears after Maoshan in his own village. As the saying goes, "go to war with brothers, fight with father and son." With the help of Li Zhu, his father, Li Baojiang, who is also the chairman of the village fruit production and marketing professional cooperative, felt more relaxed than ever before. The village adopted Li Zhu's suggestion to deeply develop and develop the Buddha see Xi pear as the core resource of the village, and the planting area of the Buddha see Xi pear has been developed from nearly 100 mu to 300 mu, of which 200 mu is a highly efficient dense planting industrial park. At the same time, in order to improve the quality of Buddha Jian Xi pear, he helped the village establish a strict quality control system from production management to fruit sales, which changed the production and sales mode of farmers fighting on their own in the past, which not only maintained the brand reputation of Fo Jian Xi pear, formed the brand effect, but also brought real benefits to the villagers.

In 2013, Maoshan Houfo Jian Xi pear was included in the list of regional characteristic agricultural products in Beijing as the only agricultural product in the country.

The application landmark is pear "dressed in gold"

One day in late autumn in 2014, Li Zhu was informed that experts from the Ministry of Agriculture came to the village to inspect. Listening to the legendary story of Buddha seeing Xi pear and tasting the sweet and crisp Buddha see Xi pear, an expert asked: "such a good pear, why didn't you apply for a landmark?" Li Zhu knows that what experts call a "landmark" is the national geographical indication of agricultural products. With this sign, it will be protected by national law, and pears can also increase their "value". After hearing such a question from the expert, he hurriedly replied, "Why not? I don't know where the temple gate is." The expert smiled and told him, "that's what we do." However, it is not easy to apply for a 'landmark'. First, we have to apply through the association, and second, the standards are so high that they are not up to standard, and there is nothing we can do to help. " After listening to the expert's words, Li Zhu was delighted, "there is no place to look for iron shoes, and it takes no effort to get them. This is a good thing that comes to the door!" "with the help of experts, we can certainly do it," he said to the experts. "

After the expert left, Li Zhu immediately returned home, downloaded the relevant materials for applying for geographical indications of agricultural products from the Internet, carefully studied the "measures for the Administration of Geographical indications of Agricultural products" and the relevant legal provisions, and began to do all the preparatory work for the declaration of landmarks.

During the preparation of the landmark declaration, he did not relax the monitoring and management of the pear orchard at all. Last year, the fruit income of the whole village reached 1.5 million yuan, and the per capita fruit income exceeded 20, 000 yuan. Buddha Jian Xi pear has become a real wealth project that villagers can see and touch.
