Original title: Sansha introduced modern agricultural planting technology, and fishermen opened up their own land to grow fruits and vegetables, making the table richer.

No, the island and reef turn into a "good Jiangnan" at sea.

Planting of melon and vegetable in Sansha

Comprehensive report of the "three Rural Express": in early summer, some islands and reefs in Sansha are full of vegetables and fragrant melons and fruits.

In the vegetable greenhouses that have sprung up one after another, and in the private plots opened up in front and behind the fishermen's homes, a wide variety of melons and fruits hang all over the branches, and even the acerola cherries introduced soon on Zhaoshu Island have blossomed and are about to be harvested.

With the rapid development and construction of Sansha, the demand of the army and people on the island for fresh vegetables and fruits is increasing day by day. On the other hand, the infrastructure on the islands and reefs is becoming more and more perfect, and those barren islands and reefs in Sansha, which once did not have a foothold of seabirds, have gradually become "good Jiangnan" on the sea with rich products, and the soldiers and civilians stationed in Sansha can no longer eat fresh fruits and vegetables only by traffic supply ships.

The modern greenhouse is full of fruits and vegetables.

In December last year, Sansha City cooperated with the resident units on the island, and hired agricultural experts from outside the island to provide technical guidance to the vegetable greenhouse, transported bags of fertilizer to Yongxing Island, and then mixed the fertilizer with coral ash on Yongxing Island to cultivate and improve it into organic soil, and vegetable greenhouses sprung up.

Four vegetable greenhouses with a total area of nearly 10, 000 square meters "perform their own duties". Greenhouse 1 specially uses soilless atomization technology to grow all kinds of melons, fruits and vegetables; greenhouse 2 is about to harvest fungi of different shapes, and all kinds of foaming bean sprouts can be served on the table at any time; cucumbers, Chaotian peppers and tomatoes of different colors grown in greenhouse 3 of 2500 square meters have been hung. Greenhouse 4 specializes in growing vegetables. in the greenhouse with an area of 1800 square meters, seasonal vegetables such as Shanghai green, tomatoes and amaranth are growing happily. Outside the greenhouse, the land on both sides of the road is not idle, and green papaya has been covered with branches.

Although there are some problems such as insufficient soil water and fertilizer storage capacity and high salinity, these vegetable greenhouses have become high-yield greenhouses through a series of technical transformations by agricultural experts to give full play to the advantages of sufficient light and fast plant growth on the island. According to reports, the production cycle of vegetables here is shorter than that on Hainan Island, especially the fast-growing amaranth, which takes only 10 days from sowing seeds to walking into the dishes of the army and people on the island.

According to the staff, the yield of vegetables in one row can reach 400 jin, more than 20 rows in the vegetable greenhouse, and only one mu of cucumbers can be harvested about 8000 jin. This high output can not only fully meet the daily supply of Yongxing staff canteen and the canteen of troops stationed on the island, but will also be sent to the supermarket of choice on Yongxing Island to meet more people's demand for fruits and vegetables.

Fishermen create their own "Happy Farm"

Different from the large-scale production on Yongxing Island, on the adjacent Zhaoshu Island, the "Happy Farm" set up by fishermen on their doorstep to grow fruits and vegetables has also become a unique local scenery.

Li Linsai, a fisherman from Zhao Shu Island, is a die-hard fan of "Happy Farm." in front of his home, he has a small vegetable garden of more than 50 square meters surrounded by fishing nets, including not only common chili peppers, radishes, and cantaloupe. There is also a papaya tree that is more than one person tall and is covered with fruit.

To grow melons, fruits and vegetables on the island, the first thing to solve is the problem of fresh water. "in the past, it was unthinkable to water melons, fruits and vegetables, because even the water to drink was very tense." Li said that when he first arrived on the island 10 years ago, he tried to open up a small piece of wasteland to plant drought-tolerant chili peppers. Because of the lack of fresh water, Li Chengsai looked forward to the rain all day long, but the weather was unsatisfactory. after a few days of continuous drought, all the pepper seedlings that had just sprouted dried to death. A few years ago, large-scale desalination equipment was installed on Zhaoshu Island, and every household had tap water, which made the dream of growing vegetables on the island come true. "the soil quality of Zhaoshu Island is the same as that of most islands and reefs in Sansha, most of which are coarse-grained sea sandy soil, with high salinity and poor soil quality. In addition, vegetables and fruit trees have to undergo the test of high temperature and high salinity." Standing in front of his own chili field, Li Linsai introduced his island planting classics, just like an agricultural expert.

Honey and meat can be supplied on the island.

Yu Shiguang, a 65-year-old man who lives in Tunchang County, lived on Yongxing Island as a militia for several years in the 1970s. When he returned to the island at the beginning of this year, he marveled at the changes in life on Yongxing Island: it used to be very difficult to eat fresh vegetables on Yongxing Island. He did not eat green food for two months in a row. At that time, many fishermen and militia stationed on the island often peeled and festered their hands and feet because of lack of vitamins. Now when he comes to Yongxing Island again, he feels that his diet is no different from that of his hometown.

Not only that, but now there are modern chicken farms and pig farms on Yongxing Island. If the soldiers and people stationed on Yongxing Island stay on the island, they can eat the meat and poultry products produced on the island. Huang Liangshan, a fisherman from Yongxing Island, even raised island bees on the island. Now he has raised more than 20 cases of honeybees. Millions of bees are busy on Yongxing Island all day long. Honey can not only be provided to the army and people stationed on the island. It has also become the first choice for guests visiting Yongxing Island. On Zhaoshu Island, more than a thousand newly planted coconut trees are growing gratifyingly, the newly planted acerola cherries have blossomed and are about to bear the first batch of cherry fruits, and the fruit trees form a dazzling green.

In the next step, Sansha City will introduce advanced planting grafting and soilless cultivation techniques, transform the sprinkler irrigation system, and improve the soil quality on the island in combination with the characteristics of Yongxing Island, so as to enhance the planting techniques of vegetables, melons and fruits on the island, increase output and varieties, better ensure the supply of vegetables, melons and fruits on Yongxing Island, and enrich the variety of table dishes for the army and people stationed on the island.
