During the growth of rape, the growth and development of rape is often hindered due to poor management or lack of some nutrient elements, resulting in the phenomenon of abnormal leaf color. The following editor focuses on explaining the causes and prevention methods of several common leaf color anomalies for your reference.

1. Red leaves

The phenomenon of red leaves in rape is caused by many reasons, such as drought, waterlogging, insect pests and freezing injury. Drought will slow down the growth of plants. The plant is short, the leaf color will gradually turn red, for the red leaves caused by drought, should be timely watering, but to use the way of furrow irrigation, should not flood irrigation, so as not to cause rotting roots. If there are too many rainy seasons in the rainy season, the stagnant water will become waterlogged, resulting in root rot and red leaves, so it is necessary to strengthen drainage and waterlogging prevention measures during the rainy season. Pests cause red leaves mainly because of aphids, so it is necessary to strengthen the prevention and control of aphids. When the temperature suddenly drops below 0 degrees in winter, the leaves will be frozen and turn red, which should be ploughed in the price, with 100 kg of plant ash per mu to reduce the freezing injury.

2. Yellow leaves

The yellow leaves are mainly caused by nitrogen deficiency. When the plants are nitrogen deficient, the plants are short, the new leaves grow slowly, the leaf color will gradually become yellowish green or yellow, and some will expand to stems and veins. Urea 6-10 kg or ammonium bicarbonate 15-20 kg per mu can be applied. In addition, sulfur deficiency will lead to leaf yellowing, which is generally a yellowing phenomenon in newborn leaves, which can be combined with 10 kg of gypsum powder per mu. Excessive acidity of soil can also lead to yellowing of leaves, and when leaves fall off seriously, they can be adjusted with plant ash and lime powder.

3. Brown leaves

Rape leaf browning indicates that the plant appears potassium deficiency, generally starting from the coming leaf, and then to the heart leaf, the first yellow-white spot appears, and the leaf tip appears brown spot. The leaves become thick, hard and brittle, and the leaves will die. In the seedling stage, potassium deficiency can be supplemented with 7-10 kg potassium chloride, and potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution can be sprayed in the bolting for 2-3 consecutive times.

4. Dark purple leaves

The appearance of dark purple leaves in rape is caused by phosphorus deficiency, which is characterized by slow plant growth, small and few leaves, no luster, purple petiole, purple spots on the edge, dark purple in severe cases, and gradually withered. In the seedling stage, 25-30kg of calcium superphosphate can be sprinkled per mu to supplement the phosphorus needed by the plant.

The above are the reasons for abnormal leaf color of rape and the introduction of prevention and control methods, hope to help you, want to know more related knowledge, please pay attention to us.
