Tongxiang Cooperative explores "Manor Tour"

In Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, a number of cooperatives rely on their own original characteristics to explore the characteristic management model of "characteristic agriculture + manor tourism", extending from agriculture to service industry.

Yunbei Straw Utilization Professional Cooperative, located in Longxiang Street, Tongxiang City, was originally an agricultural economic cooperative that used straw to raise Hu sheep. Since the beginning of this year, the head of the cooperative, Wang Hongfei, has built the cooperative into a 26-acre Huyang manor, which displays a variety of Huyang culture and provides a place for tourists to eat, live and play.

The production cycle of agricultural products is long, which is greatly affected by the market situation, and Hu Sheep is no exception. Last year, the sales market of Huyang was in the doldrums, and Wang Hongfei's cooperative was also in danger of losing money. Having worked hard for a year but still lost money, Wang Hongfei wondered if he could do mutton processing and sales on his own.

Wang Hongfei then cooperated with Tongxiang food processing enterprises to develop vacuum packaged Braised Lamb in Brown Sauce products, which were sold not only online, but also to the highway service area.

After opening up the intermediate link between production and sales, Wang Hongfei found that the harvest was finally better than in previous years. "the income from selling vacuum packaging is about three times that of selling live sheep directly." Wang Hongfei said.

Just selling mutton is just the beginning of the transformation of the cooperative. Wang Hongfei tries to combine agriculture with the service industry to build a Huyang manor. This year, Wang Hongfei introduced many ornamental varieties on the basis of the original breeding of Hu sheep, making the cooperative a small scenic spot, attracting nearly 2000 tourists during the May Day short holiday alone.

Wang Hongfei's Huyang Manor has now become one of the first five estates to pass the star rating in Tongxiang City. "in addition to the Hu Yang Culture Corridor that has already been built, we will also build a sheep culture museum in the future to refine the manor economy." Wang Hongfei said.

In addition to Huyang Manor, Wu Bingjiang, a big chicken farmer in Fengming Street in Tongxiang City, has turned his farm into an intelligent "native chicken farm", where tourists can also use QR codes to order and pay.

Lu Yuedong, secretary of the Tongxiang Municipal CPC Committee, said Tongxiang wants to build the largest manor community in China. During the 13th five-year Plan period, about 100 high-quality large, medium and small manors were built, forming the largest manor tourist area in China.
